THE SHADOW'S MISSION"
The System's New Mission
Leo stood alone on a snowy ridge overlooking the Kingsroad caravan as it departed Winterfell. His metal arm clicked softly as he tightened his cloak.
Then—
PING.
The familiar blue glow flashed before his eyes.
NEW MAIN MISSION UNLOCKED:
"FIRE REBORN"
Objective 1: Reunite with Daenerys Targaryen.
Objective 2: Secure all remaining dragon eggs.
Objective 3: Successfully hatch them.
Failure Condition:
Targaryen bloodline ends.
Leo blinked. "Hatch… dragons? Seriously?"
Another window appeared.
WARNING:
The birth of dragons is a fixed point in this timeline.
Deviation may cause catastrophic world corruption.
Secondary Task:
Deliver a stabilizing artifact to Daenerys Targaryen.
Leo sighed.
"Guess I'm going to Essos."
On the Ship to Essos
Storms raged around the vessel as Leo sailed east across the Narrow Sea. Most of the passengers cowered below deck, but he stood at the bow, his eyes closed, sensing for something…
A pull.
A heartbeat.
A whisper of fire.
Something ancient.
Something calling him.
His eyes snapped open.
"There."
Without hesitation, Leo dove into the freezing waters. He swam deep, deeper than human lungs should allow — guided by the system and something older still.
At the bottom of the sea lay a ruined Valyrian chest, half fused with volcanic glass.
Inside pulsed a faint crimson glow.
Leo tore it open.
A dragon egg nestled within, scales shimmering blood-red like molten metal cooling.
A message flickered:
UNCLAIMED EGG DETECTED:
"THE HEARTFLAME EGG"
Rarity: Mythic
Status: Dormant
Compatible Bloodlines: Targaryen, Dragonborn, Shadowborn
Bonding: Pending…
Leo exhaled, awed despite himself.
"This… she'll love this."
He held it gently against his chest, warmth spreading through his metal fingers.
Reunion in Essos
Two months.
Daenerys had waited two long, lonely months.
She stood in a dusty courtyard in Vaes Dothrak, her silver hair glowing in the sun as she watched the Dothraki practice their riding.
Jorah approached her.
"Khaleesi… there is a man at the gate."
Daenerys's heart twisted.
"It isn't him," she whispered.
But then she heard the shouts.
"Sorcerer!"
"Shadow-arm!"
"It's the ghost-man from the West!"
Her breath caught.
She turned—
and there he was.
Leo Pendragon.
Travel-worn.
Cloaked.
Carrying something held carefully in his arms.
Daenerys ran to him before she could think.
"Leo!"
He knelt just in time to catch her as she threw her arms around him with relief so raw it almost hurt.
"I thought you wouldn't return," she whispered into his shoulder.
"I promised I would."
She pulled back slightly, cheeks flushed from emotion.
"You were gone for so long… I feared something happened."
Leo's voice softened.
"I know. And I'm sorry."
He lifted the object wrapped in dark cloth.
"This is for you. To make up for it."
Daenerys unwrapped it.
Her eyes widened.
Her breath stopped.
A blood-red dragon egg, warm in her hands, glowing faintly as if it recognized her.
"Leo… this is—this is impossible. Where did you—?"
"It called to me," he replied quietly. "And it belongs with you."
The Heartflame Egg Reacts Only to Pendragon Blood
When Daenerys holds the egg, she feels only warmth.
But when Leo touches it —
the egg glows, hums, and pulses with life.
Because:
The Heartflame Egg responds exclusively to the Pendragon bloodline.
A bloodline older than Valyria.
Feared by ancient dragonlords.
A lineage meant to command the red dragons — the most violent and powerful breed.
Daenerys does not know this.
No one knows this.
Only Leo.
The system never appears outside his mind.
He hides everything behind a calm smile.
When Daenerys asks:
"Why does it glow in your hands but not mine…?"
Leo simply answers:
"Maybe it trusts me."
And she believes him.
