The whole world trembled by the shockwaves of the last attack.
The thrusters of the platform were damaged,it can fall any second now.
As the dust cleared , Arynx saw Virtius lying on the ground ,barely conscious.
He Had Won
Arynx went closer to Viritus , with his last bit of strength he picked Virtius in his arms and staggered to the edge of the platfrom.
Below the Bloodgrazers were towered on top of each other- climbing,clawing,hungry- trying to get to the platform.
Hundreds,thousands,millions.
They were close.
Too close.
But Arynx eyes were not on them.They were on him Virtius.The cause of the soulless creatures below.
Then without hesitation,he let go of his arms.
While falling Virtius eyes met Arynx. He saw Virtius's mouth move "So long, Friend"

All the memories came flooding back to Arynx.
He started screaming in hysteria,breath sharp.Tears came in his eyes and he knelt to the ground looking at the crimson sky.
The blow had split open the clouds and a beam of fractured sunlight was falling on him like a spotlight on a grave.
What was the point of winning .....if had lost everyone and everything?
The bloodgrazers had now reached the
platform.
Amidst the tears Arynx saw their eyes hollow and silent.
They were coming from all sides to get him ,the last living soul on the planet.
As the claw was an inch closer to his eye there was no fear in him.
Just a single thought
