Chapter 126: The Bishop's Secret
On the outskirts of the city, in a quiet small town.
This was a missionary district within the jurisdiction of Dei Cathedral. Almost all the residents in the town were believers of the Church.
At the entrance of the town stood a gray-white building, with a sign at the gate reading "Parish Asylum."
At this time, many figures had gathered at the gate of the asylum, most of whom were children.
Archbishop Hans Hermann stepped down from a small truck.
"Please move the food down..." He ordered.
At this moment, a nun ran towards him.
"Archbishop Hermann, you don't have to do these things yourself." Heidi Anra, lifting her skirt, said breathlessly.
"Heidi, how are the children doing recently?" Hans smiled.
"The Community Memorial Day celebration is coming soon, and everyone is busy preparing programs."
As Heidi spoke, she waved her hand behind her.
Soon a little girl ran over, holding a picture frame in her arms.
Heidi made some hand gestures, and the little girl responded with hand signs.
"Archbishop Hermann, Mira has prepared a gift for you."
Heidi nudged Mira, and the latter lowered her head and handed out the picture frame.
Hans reached out to take it and saw a portrait drawn on it, which looked very similar to himself.
Although it was just a pencil drawing, judging from the facial proportions and light and shadow structure, the artist was very talented.
"Oh, it's drawn so alike; I like it very much." Hans smiled and nodded.
Heidi also smiled and hurriedly made a few gestures to Mira.
The latter soon showed a shy smile, obviously knowing that she was praised.
Seeing that the goal had been achieved, Heidi dared not delay any longer.
"Archbishop Hermann, Mr. Juan is waiting for you in the office." She bowed.
"Okay, thank you for your hard work." Hans nodded.
When passing by Mira, he put the picture frame into his robe, indicating that he would keep it carefully.
The children of the asylum surrounded Hans all the way to the office area before dispersing.
Knock... knock.
Hans knocked on the door.
"Come in."
A voice came from inside.
Hans pushed open the door and saw a man in a suit sitting in the office.
"Juan, my friend, how are you?" Hans opened his arms with a smile.
Juan Perkovic wore a pair of black-rimmed glasses and was about forty years old. He kept a straight face and looked a little cold.
Juan signaled Hans to close the door, then walked to the wooden cabinet.
He pressed a decoration on the drawer of the cabinet.
Immediately after, the wall on one side suddenly opened, revealing a stone staircase behind it, seemingly leading underground.
Juan entered first, and Hans followed with a smile.
After the two left, the entrance to the secret passage closed quickly.
In a room under the asylum.
A pair of horn-like decorations hung on the wall, and below was a long table with some white candles on it.
Apart from this, there was no furniture in the room.
"You mean, that couple came back alive?" Juan stared at Hans.
"Hey, don't look at me like that; it makes it look like I lied to you."
Hans threw the picture frame on the table casually; his previous easy-going appearance was completely gone.
"The information I got was correct; that place was indeed a stronghold of Hell. I just didn't expect those two to really be able to complete the commission."
Juan narrowed his eyes upon hearing this.
"They are just acting exorcists. Relying only on the 'Bible' and 'Names', they cannot purify the clone of that one in Hell." He still stared at the Archbishop opposite.
Hans shrugged: "Maybe those indigenous people of Hell have really fallen."
"You know, since that group of angels fell a thousand years ago, that one in Hell hasn't had many good days."
"Not only was his territory snatched, but the strength of the demons below is also getting worse day by day. Maybe that clone was just impressive in appearance but useless in reality."
Juan shook his head: "I don't care about these."
"I only know that if Lorraine Warren dies, the power of Saint Lucy's Eyes can be gathered in her daughter."
"Only a pair of young 'eyes' can allow the True Lord to reclaim his ability."
Hans said: "Of course, this is the pursuit of our lives."
He covered his chest with his hand, performing an etiquette that did not belong to the Church.
"So I guided them to accept another exorcism contract. An academy teacher has already died on this commission."
Juan said: "Very good. In this way, we can welcome the descent of the True Lord sooner."
"Speaking of descent, the Warren couple brought unexpected news."
Hans looked up slightly.
"A certain Lord of Hell has already come to the human world."
Juan said: "It's probably some 'reincarnation' trick again. Before Judgment Day comes, no side can descend directly to the world, and the Church is no exception."
Hans said upon hearing this: "I think so too. I will suppress this matter. Let those guys from Hell attract attention so we can act more conveniently."
"What about the Exorcism Academy?" Juan mentioned another matter.
"After the appearance of the 'Sacred Words', the Church let those bastards step onto the stage in the name of 'exorcism'. Many talented guys have appeared during this time."
"Including us, no one wants to see this scene."
Hans said: "Recently, I have increased the 'theological' work of the academy teachers, so they won't have the chance to be 'nannies'."
"As for those students..." He smiled at this point.
"Starting from last week, they can only receive commissions rated as 'Dangerous'."
"Don't forget, there are also those shops on Dei Street; those students can also ask them for help," Juan reminded.
"This will depend on you. I provide the commission location, and you are responsible for the action. Chopping off limbs, or mental pollution, do whatever you want," Hans said.
Juan didn't speak upon hearing this, but accepted the suggestion.
Hans continued: "You can also plan a few 'thefts' against the shops and destroy those holy artifacts for sale. I will provide you with convenience."
"I need time to think. In the meantime, don't forget the Warren couple."
"Don't worry, they won't get a single bottle of Holy Water."
After talking about business, Juan turned around and picked up the picture frame on the table.
"Those children seem to respect you very much."
"Isn't this exactly what we want to see?"
"Recently, I contacted a guy who serves angels. They seem to be planning something and need a large number of children. I plan to sell a batch to find out their plan."
"Oh? I have no objection, but those old guys in the Church have a lot of demands. This might affect the connections I bought." Hans raised an eyebrow.
Juan said: "It's very simple, just like you did before. Attract more believers in the community, kill them, and just keep the children."
Hans chuckled lightly: "Hey, I hope you use more civilized words. I just sent them to meet the Lord in advance."
Juan also curled his lips rarely upon hearing this, but his smile was extremely ugly.
"Wasn't it the same for Mira's parents? Chopped up by you like pigs and sheep. If she knew that the figure she drew was her enemy, how would she feel?"
Juan handed the picture frame to Hans as he spoke.
The latter narrowed his eyes: "There is no need to play this kind of 'threat' game between us."
Juan said: "You misunderstood. I was just considering raising Mira as a sacrifice for the next ritual."
Hans snatched the picture frame: "Hey, this girl has already been reserved by someone. I don't want to disappoint the client."
