I feel a bit stronger now; It's been a bit since the incident, but now I have to prepare to leave… With Nil.
I know this trip is going to be somewhat of a rollercoaster, even though everyone has had time to calm down; the intrusion of another person might pick up some unnecessary steam as well.
[Out in the living room]
I hope Kea's parents are accepting of me. This is my opportunity to show Kea that I care for him, and…
"I'm ready to go, Nil!" Kea shouted from the door.
"Alright, I'll be on my way in a moment!" I shouted back.
Kea's parents will be picking us up. And yes, Kea told them I was coming. The time has come to say goodbye to this apartment for a while.
I picked up my bags and followed Kea down the apartment building halls.
"So, Nil. When you meet everyone, just try not to mention Grandma. It's best not to have more unnecessary gloom around the house."
"Got it!"
The winter breeze was anything but soothing; the air felt dead, and so did my cheeks.
Kea pointed to a car parked on the apartment lot.
"That's our goal right there!" He nervously smirked.
I'm glad he seems to have fully recovered mentally.
The car sat right in front of us, two people sat in the front, one really… Really big, the other small. She looked kind of like Kea as a girl, but far more reserved and much smaller.
I stepped into the car, it seemed pretty silent. Nobody really spoke a word. As I buckled myself into the seat beside Kea. The car started, the engine breaking the silence of unspoken words.
"How have you been, Kea?" The mother asked.
"I'm fine." He monotonously replied.
Nukuo's head spilled with rambling thoughts amidst the silence:
Ahhh! I'm so nervous!! The girl is sitting right behind me! She seems like such an amazing girl, I can't help but feel so happy for my Kea! But, I don't want to make a wrong first impression!!!
Nil thought hard, almost enough to break the bubble itself.
'I have to break this other silence somehow. And…' Something came to mind, a perfect battle plan. 'I know just that!'
I cleared my throat. "Hello! Great creators! I, as you might know, am Nil Itina! Great roommate and friend of Kea!.. I was wondering who you might be?"
"Bahahahahahahaha!!!! You're an interesting little girl!!" The dad burst, breaking the formal mood that had formed.
"Nice to meet you!! I'm Kea's dad! Shuh Akane!!" He heartily yelled.
"... … … … … … … … I am Nukuo Akane, Kea's mom." She murmured.
She gives Kea energy all the way.
"I… want to thank you for being so great to Kea… .. He definitely needed somebody like you in his life…"
