Mr. Evans furiously yelled
" Your mom is never coming for you,"
Ruby suddenly froze. Those words hit her like a bomb, but she refused to accept it. She shook her head and said

With no emotion left, she walked over to her father and handed him his phone, then said

She felt the man in front of him was not fit to be called her father. Mr. Evans eyes darkened at Ruby's words and was about to reprimand her again but then seeing Ruby's suddenly lifeless eyes, he felt a pang on his heart and didn't know what to say at that moment. Ruby, on the other hand, smiled lightly, a sad smile it was then said
" I would leave to my room now, Mr. Evans, I hope you don't mind. "
Before Mr. Evans could talk, Ruby dashed into her room like a bolt of light. She sat on her bed with an expressionless face. Her eyes were red, but she couldn't cry. No one wanted her. A determination flashed through her eyes as she remembered Gary's words
" Never show your vulnerability in front of anyone. Show them you are strong. "
She smiled sadly at that thought and said to herself
" Thank you very much, Uncle Gary, and I won't let you down. Gone are the days of the weak Ruby. "
Meanwhile, Christabel walked to Mr. Evans said pitifully as if she had been wrong

Days quickly passed by, and Mrs Layla and Christabel began to see Ruby as a real treat. At first, they thought she was just a weakling they could bully whenever they wanted, but of late, she suddenly transformed into a new person. They were Christabel's lacky's and were probably here to deal with her on behalf of Christabel. One of them pulled out a chair and sat on it right opposite Ruby. Then she said

" The school's ugly duckling "

laughter then begun bursting in the class. Someone suddenly said with a pitiful voice
" But it's so sad how things had to turn out like this. Ruby was once an extremely gorgeous girl, but now....oh no. The beautiful Phoenix has transformed into an ugly duckling "
