The Ivo Mission — When the Android Hits an Error
After young justices arrived on South Africa
Far from civilization they saw the location and landed the ship near the base close enough to get a good visual but not close enough to get spoted by any census near the base and foreigner they cannot be spotted but then they saw the robot androids garden the place for intruders
So the team decided to destroy every single one of them to reach the ways because I was know other way the base was covered with motion sensors and security cameras anywhere they located they need to destroy the Android first then only they could get in the base
Time skip half an hour later
The last security android collapsed in a shower of sparks, its metal shell smoking as it hit the floor.
Nightwing straightened, escrima sticks still humming.
"Clear. Everyone good?"
Aqualad nodded, water evaporating from his armor.
"Minimal damage. The lab should be—"
The massive reinforced door at the end of the corridor exploded outward.
Not inward.
Outward.
The blast threw the team back as smoke poured into the hall. From within the haze came laughter—sharp, manic, unmistakable.
"Heh… heh… heh…"
Professor Ivo stepped out slowly, hands clasped behind his back, goggles gleaming.
"You're too late," he said with glee. "I was hoping you'd arrive before activation… but this is so much better."
Behind him, something moved.
Heavy. Precise. Alive.
A tall android stepped forward—sleeker than anything Ivo had built before. Its surface constantly shifted, data streams racing across its body like living code.
Ivo spread his arms wide.
"Behold—Adaptive Android Mark Infinity."
The android's eyes flared blue.
"SCAN PROTOCOL INITIATED."
Nightwing's stomach dropped.
"Everyone—scatter!"
Too late.
COPY SEQUENCE
The android turned first to Aqualad.
"TARGET IDENTIFIED."
A pulse of light washed over him.
"ATLANTEAN PHYSIOLOGY CONFIRMED. HYDROKINESIS ACQUIRED."
Water rippled unnaturally around the android's limbs.
Miss Martian flew upward—
and froze midair as the android snapped its head toward her.
"MARTIAN GENETIC MATRIX DETECTED."
Her eyes widened.
"Oh no—"
"TELEPATHY AND SHAPESHIFTING ACQUIRED."
The android's outline blurred for half a second.
Artemis fired an arrow—deflected effortlessly.
"Tactical combat patterns logged."
Nightwing felt it then.
It wasn't just copying powers.
It was copying them.
"BAT-FAMILY STRATEGIC DATABASE ACQUIRED."
Nightwing swore under his breath.
"That's not good."
The android turned again.
"Speed-force signature detected."
A red streak slammed into it—
—and bounced back as the android's body shimmered.
"SPEED ADAPTATION COMPLETE."
Flash skidded to a stop, eyes wide.
"Uh. Guys?"
Blue Beetle fired a sonic blast—
"SCARAB TECHNOLOGY ANALYZED."
The android's arm reconfigured, firing back a perfect replica.
Wonder Girl punched—
"KRYPTONIAN-DERIVED STRENGTH CONFIRMED."
Beast Boy shifted into a rhino—
"GENETIC MORPHING DATA STORED."
Batgirl's movement, timing, precision—
"ADVANCED HUMAN COMBAT PROTOCOLS ACQUIRED."
Ivo was practically vibrating with excitement.
"Yes! YES! This is perfection!"
Then—
The android turned to Superboy.
THE FAILURE
Its eyes locked onto him.
"KRYPTONIAN-HUMAN HYBRID DETECTED."
Superboy braced himself.
"Copy it," Ivo barked. "All of it!"
The scan began.
Strength.
Durability.
Cellular density.
All acquired instantly.
But then—
The android paused.
Its body flickered.
"—ERROR."
A low, distorted tone echoed through the lab.
"UNKNOWN ENERGY SIGNATURE DETECTED."
Ivo frowned.
"What? Try again!"
The android's eyes glowed brighter.
"RE-SCANNING…"
The air around Superboy shifted.
Invisible pressure rippled outward.
The android staggered back half a step.
"—ERROR."
"ADAPTATION FAILED."
The team stared.
"What…?" Artemis whispered.
Ivo slammed his fist against a console.
"No! That's impossible! You're a defective clone—an inferior copy of Superman!"
He rounded on Superboy, eyes wild.
"What kind of power are you hiding?!" he screamed.
"What is inside you that my android can't COPY?!"
The android straightened, voice flat and mechanical.
"ANALYSIS RESULT:
ENERGY SOURCE IS NOT BIOLOGICAL, TECHNOLOGICAL, OR MAGICAL BY DATABASE PARAMETERS."
Its head tilted.
"ENERGY REFUSING REPLICATION."
Silence.
Even the android sounded… confused.
Superboy clenched his fists.
He hadn't used it.
Hadn't activated anything.
And still—
The power inside him had said no.
Miss Martian looked at him, eyes wide with something close to awe.
"Conner… what are you?"
Superboy didn't answer.
Because for the first time—
He realized something terrifying.
The power Damian had trusted him with
wasn't just strong.
It was singular.
And nothing—not machines, not genius, not stolen gods—
could take it from him.
