Chapter 22 - The Tourney II

(Third Person POV)

It had happened so quickly.

With the shock of Rhaegar's defeat, the crowd didn't react much to Barristan's defeat to Arthur Dayne. They were still shaken by the mystery knight's victory over their beloved Prince, all of them having mixed reactions to all of this.

The final match of the joust was upon them and Tywin was growing anxious, completely convinced that he knew who this Mystery Knight was.

"Curses...." He said, "Your Grace, do you wish to know who this man is? I could have him unmasked."

Aerys raised his hand, "Let this be part of the excitement, Tywin." He said with a chuckle, "The man defeated my son. While I don't think he would defeat Ser Arthur, I am curious to see how he will perform."

As he said this, a servant quickly walked up to Tywin and whispered to his ear. Aerys saw this and frowned, a bit interested at what was going on.

"Your Grace." Tywin cleared his throat, "My apologies. I took the liberty of having the mystery knight's gear inspected for anything unusual."

"You think he's cheating?" Aerys raised an eyebrow, "Come now, Tywin. Do not be so sour."

"Again, my apologies. Everything seems to be in order." Tywin said, straightening up in his chair, "The final match can resume as normal."

"Good." Aerys said with a nod

Everyone watched as the two riders came into the arena, Ser Arthur stoically sitting atop his horse, waiting for the round to start at his end. He watched as the Mystery Knight slowly approached the King's stands, where all of the Lords and Ladies were watching.

He looked over to Lady Joanna Lannister, who was watching with a slight frown on her face, "Lady Joanna." His muffled voice was heard, pointing his lance towards the stands, "With your favor, I wish to win this Tourney."

Tywin narrowed his eyes, "W-What?"

Joanna was rather flustered, "I....uhh....." She said softly, unsure of how to react, "Well..."

Genna Lannister chuckled at this, "Fufu...." She said with a smile, "You foolish boy....."

Aerys chuckled, "Go on." He said to Joanna, giving her a nod, "Give him what he wants, make this interesting."

Tywin frowned, but said nothing.

Joanna stood up and slowly walked down the steps, heading to the railing, a favor in hand. She then slowly slid the favor down his lance, her beautiful green eyes meeting with his through his slits. She froze, albeit for a single moment, their gazes causing something inside her to stir.

She cleared her throat, "Good fortune to you, Ser."

She turned around and walked up to her seat, sitting down next to Tyrion who was looking at this with curiosity.

The Mystery Knight returned to his end of the lane, preparing to start. Everyone watched with pure excitement, knowing that Ser Arthur Dayne was going to win this, being that he was one of the best knights the Realm currently had to offer.

The round started and the two of them began to charge at each other, pointing their lances forwards as they met in the middle. Their lances connected with each other, loudly smashing against their shields as the two of them were unfazed by this.

"Hm." Aerys said as he saw this, "Interesting. The two of them seem evenly matched."

"So it seems." Tywin said

"Let us see how long this takes." Aerys chuckled

As they went for a second round, the Mystery Knight leaned forwards as they charged at each other. He pointed his lance forward and as they connected, the lance struck Ser Arthur in the chest, throwing him off his horse, spinning backwards, and landing on his neck and head.

"Curses!" Tywin stood up, "That was a horrible landing!"

"Ser Arthur...." Aerys also stood up

This was a nasty landing, causing everyone to gasp in horror as Arthur hit the ground and remained motionless for a couple of seconds. His defeat was sudden and brutal, which left everyone frozen in shock.

The Mystery Knight went around, his horse galloping towards Arthur, "Shit!" He said, "Dammit!"

As he reached him, he dismounted quickly, tossing the lance to the side and crouching down besides the Kingsguard. As he did this, several squires and Knights also rushed towards him to see if he was okay.

"Are you alright, Ser Arthur?" The Knight asked

Arthur groaned as he was slowly being pulled up by him, "I'm fine...i'm fine...." He said as he took his helmet off, "Just a bit rattled, that is all...."

As they saw that Arthur seemed alright, the crowd began to cheer and clap, despite him having lost. The Mystery Knight then got back on his horse, the announcer coming forth to declare him the champion.

"The Tourney Champion is this Mystery Knight!!" He shouted, "Who we know nothing about!!"

"Give me the wreath." The Knight said as he extended his hand towards him

They gave him the wreath, which he will use to crown the Queen of Love and Beauty. He approached the King's stands on his horse, looking over to Lord Tywin as he held the wreath on his hand. Tywin saw a familiar set of eyes, peering through the slits of the helm, which caused him to clench his fists as his face hardened.

"Lady Joanna Lannister." the Mystery Knight said, "Thanks to your Favor, I was able to come out victorious. Allow me to crown you the Queen of Love and Beauty."

There was a surprised gasp by this, the entire crowd was looking over at Tywin, who was standing next to the King.

Joanna was completely flustered by this, her face getting slightly red as she sat there, unsure of what to do again. This caused Tywin to take a step forward, but he stopped himself as he began to breathe heavily in anger.

"You dare.....!!" Tywin started, "Someone sei-"

Aerys cut him off, "Hold on, hold on." He said, "Calm yourself, Tywin. Lady Joanna, go on. Have this honor."

Joanna slowly walked down the steps yet again and reached the Knight, who was holding the wreath with both his hands. She leaned down and felt as he placed the wreath on her head, a bit of nervousness filling her body.

"T-Thank you, Ser..." She said softly, straightening up, "Congratulations on your victory."

"Hm..." the Knight said, "I-"

"I, Lord Tywin Lannister, command you to take your helmet off." Tywin said with a serious tone, "Now."

"Tywin....." Aerys said with an annoyed tone

The Knight moved his horse towards the center, slowly taking his helmet off to reveal Ellion's face, his red hair drenched in sweat as he had a slight smirk on his face.

Genna stood up, "Ellion?!" She exclaimed, with an exaggerated tone, "I told you to stay in the docks!"

Tywin's face got red with rage, "Guards!" He exclaimed, "Seize him!!"

"Seize him?" Aerys asked, "Why?"

"I've warned him to stay away from the Tourney and he didn't listen." Tywin exclaimed, "I said he will be hanged for this!!"

Ellion smirked, "Is that so, Lord Tywin?" He said, "I did not show my face throughout the whole tourney. Now that it ended, I think it's fair I can show my face to His Grace, being that I am the Champion. Oh...Lord Tywin....."

"I apologize for showing favor to your Wife."
