After a long three days, lots of crying, and my parents almost canceling my birthday party, it was finally here! Susie, my mom, had spent all of yesterday reconfiguring the table to fill Zack's empty spot. Thankfully, Morgan's older brother Marcus was able to come, so the spot wasn't hard to fill.
My fifteen closest friends and I spent most of the night eating, dancing, and drinking on the yacht. My parents sat with my grandparents watching us from inside, and for a moment, my life finally felt like it was getting back to normal.
Until one of my friends, Kika, walked over and showed me an article.
Zack and I had agreed to keep the breakup low-key so his name wouldn't be ruined for cheating and so my content creation wouldn't be affected. But he did not hold up his end of the deal. Instead, he posted a TikTok about how I "fumbled the bag." He was basically bragging about being a cheater, and people were taking his side. Why he felt the need to post about it, I have no clue, but I do know that everything after that went downhill.
From that moment on, my phone was blowing up with people sending me articles about what the media thought happened and whether the cheating was "real or fake." My mom eventually walked over and took my phone; she wanted me to live in the moment because all of this would still be there long after the party was over.
I opened presents and had some cake, but all I could think about were the articles and the fact that the man I thought I was going to marry had cheated on me. This had officially turned into the worst birthday ever.
I know it's not much, but I didn't have a lot for this chapter. I swear the next one will be better!
