I didn't care what her reason was to be in that damned forest, after all the instructions had been given. I didn't ask. I couldn't.
All I could think about were those words, laced with rage and hatred, seared into my memory like a burn I couldn't scrub away.
A grimace pulled at my lips as my hands clenched at my sides. I strode through the corridor, pushed open the heavy door to the meeting room, and without a word, walked through to the smaller chamber at the back.

It was reserved for high-level discussions, the kind that never reached the ears of pack members. And today, it held something worse: uninvited guests from the council.
"Welcome," Dante said dryly, his voice soaked in sarcasm.
I ignored him and moved to take the empty seat beside him.
