Volantis 283 AC
(Note: they speak High Valyrian in this chapter, but for your sake and my sanity, I decided to write it in English.)
- POV DONIPHOS PAENYMION
"To what do we owe your visit, Targaryen?"
I asked the Targaryen boy.
"Your brother was not very respectful towards us when he visited us last time," I said to him in High Valyrian, not expecting him to know much about it.
"I know my brother was a fool who had forgotten his roots," he spoke in perfect High Valyrian, surprising me,
Well, that was not what I expected from a Targaryen.
"Indeed, he was a fool, along with all of your ancestors too," I said to him.
- POV Viserys Targaryen
"Mind your tongue now. I know our kin were not on the best of terms, but we do not have to act like Dothraki," I said to the Triarch.
"How dare you! To compare us to those animals? Do you seek death, boy!?" roared another Triarch.
"I compare you to nothing."
"And no, I don't seek death; I seek your protection and hospitality," I said in a cold tone.
"The animal who has usurped my family's throne is out for my kin's blood, and I have come to seek the protection of the last true blood of Valyria," I said, and I could see some of them nod, pleased with my words.
"And why should we care about you and your kin?" said the Triarch of the Tiger side.
"Because I am of the same blood as you, and I could have gone to Braavos, but I didn't," I said.
"And why did you not?" asked Doniphos Paenymion.
"Because I am the blood of Valyria, and I don't bow down to those who are not of my blood," I answered simply.
"And what would we get in return?"
"When I reclaim my throne, I will give you what the Conqueror denied your ancestors," I said to the Triarch, shocking him and all of the other Triarchs.
"And if you fail?" he asked.
"Then you won't lose anything," I answered him.
"But I won't give you all of them; two or three of them will be under my rule," I said to them.
They nodded as they started talking among themselves. After some time, they were done speaking to each other and looked at me.
"Very well, Viserys Targaryen, you will have our hospitality and protection. In return, when you reclaim your throne, you will give us what you promised," said the Elephant Triarch as he called several slaves.
"I will," I said.
"Those are your servants who will show you to the places where you can rest along with your family."
"Thank you for your hospitality, Doniphos Paenymion," I said as I followed the servants.
(End of High Valyrian speaking)
WELL, THAT WAS STUPID. HOW ARE YOU GOING TO GET THEM WHAT YOU PROMISED THEM?
"That is a problem for future me," I said as I prepared myself for a bath.
"And get out of my head! Don't you have something else to do?"
NO, I DON'T.
"Then go, cunt! Come back when I am finished with my bath."
FINE.
- POV Jon Arryn
Gods curse you, Targaryens, and your madness.
I cursed in my mind as I looked at the shores of Dragonstone.
"That boy is as mad as his father was," I said as I looked at the body of the Lannister. His head was gone, replaced with a golden lion's head.
The Redwyne too; his head split off in the middle. Part of the head was missing.
"My lord hand, what should we do with the bodies?"
I heard Stannis's voice behind me, and as I looked at him, I saw nothing but anger, but not a normal anger, rather a cold one.
I told Robert not to do it, but he didn't listen to me and gave Storm's End to Renly and Dragonstone to him.
"Give them to the Silent Sisters to do the right thing for them and send them back to their homes."
He nodded and asked some men to help him with the bodies.
"Why are you doing it? Let the men do it," I said to him; for it's not his job to help them.
"Those men starved with me in Storm's End, and they could have killed me or given me to the Tyrells, but they didn't."
"So I don't see why I shouldn't help them, my lord hand,"
he said, and I was ashamed of myself for not knowing that.
