Chapter 151 - Chapter 143 The Correct Way to Use Yixing Ability

"Bring the person here, and this power will be yours."

Jon and Ygritte's hearts were stirred with a thousand waves.

Body, inheritance, magic… these words combined, exuded a chilling, evil aura.

Jon's hand once again gripped his sword hilt, his vigilance almost solidifying into a tangible form.

Ygritte, even more frightened, retreated repeatedly, hiding behind Lynn, as if Lynn was her only reliance now.

Lynn, however, was calm.

He even smiled.

"Sounds like a good deal."

His gaze moved from the Three-Eyed Raven's withered face to the Children of the Forest beside him.

"However, before I help you find that unfortunate soul, I need to know a few things first."

The Three-Eyed Raven's single eye turned slightly, seemingly waiting for Lynn's next words.

"Warg."

Lynn spoke the word.

"What exactly is this ability of mine?"

He had wanted to ask this question for a long time.

Previously in King's Landing, he could manipulate Faceless Men, control Daenerys to write, make Littlefinger jump off a building, and even control Jaime to do some indescribable things.

But he could only achieve simple influences, and each time after Warging, the backlash on his mental power varied in intensity.

For example, controlling Daenerys had no side effects at all.

But manipulating Littlefinger to jump off a building almost completely drained his mental power.

He had always thought it was because others had particularly strong willpower, but now it seemed things were not that simple.

"That's not Warging."

The Three-Eyed Raven's voice carried a mocking tone.

"That's playing with fire."

His cloudy single eye seemed to pierce through time, seeing the scene that unfolded on Silk Street in King's Landing.

"The souls of animals are simple and pure; their consciousness is like a clear stream."

"You can easily wade into it, and even change its direction."

"But humans are different."

"A human soul is a turbulent ocean, full of desires, fears, memories, and obsessions."

"Especially their instinct for survival, which is an indestructible brand etched deep within the soul."

The Three-Eyed Raven's voice deepened.

"You forcibly intrude into that ocean, attempting to command it to unleash a tsunami powerful enough to destroy itself—this in itself is an act that violates the most fundamental rules of the world."

"In that instant, what you face is the target soul's most frantic and thorough counterattack."

"That power is enough to tear apart any intruder who isn't strong enough."

"At best, you suffer mental derangement, becoming an idiot who only drools."

"At worst, your soul disintegrates, and you die on the spot."

The temperature in the cave seemed to drop a few degrees.

Jon and Ygritte were completely bewildered.

But they could feel that it was definitely not good news.

Lynn's back, however, was covered in a fine layer of cold sweat.

He finally understood.

No wonder after controlling Littlefinger that day, he felt an unprecedented weakness and exhaustion.

It turned out that it wasn't just simple mental power consumption.

It was his soul engaging in an invisible life-and-death struggle with another soul.

And he didn't even know he had walked through the gates of hell.

"The reason you succeeded,"

the Three-Eyed Raven continued,

"is, first, because your soul is far stronger than you imagine."

"Second, because your target, Petyr Baelish, his heart was already filled with failure and fear; that ocean had long lost its dikes."

"That's why you could easily wade into it."

"You merely won by chance a gamble you should never have participated in."

"Had it been anyone with a firm will, full of complex thoughts, or someone who felt no fear of you, if you tried to make him commit suicide, you would probably be a corpse by now."

"Like that Lannister knight."

"If you wanted to control him to commit suicide, you would need tens, even hundreds of times his mental power to do so."

Lynn's heart completely sank.

So that was it.

It wasn't that Jaime's willpower was strong.

It was that Jaime at the time simply didn't believe he could be controlled by magic; his soul was in an "unfortified" but also "unyielding" stable state.

He simply couldn't shake his instinct for survival.

It was also fortunate that he only controlled Jaime to do those indescribable things, which didn't provoke Jaime's fierce resistance.

If he had tried to manipulate him into committing suicide, he would probably have suffered unprecedented heavy damage.

"Playing like that, you'll kill yourself sooner or later."

The Three-Eyed Raven concluded.

Ygritte, listening from behind, had her mouth slightly agape.

Through the fragmented conversation, she finally understood.

This Southerner actually used his own method to make a living person jump off a building?

Madman!

This guy was a complete and utter madman!

She looked at Lynn's back, her eyes becoming incredibly complex.

There was fear, shock, and a hint of admiration she hadn't even noticed herself?

The Free Folk respected strength.

And Lynn was clearly the strongest and most insane person she had ever met in her life.

"So, I need your knowledge."

Lynn exhaled a long breath, suppressing the lingering fear in his heart.

He looked at the Three-Eyed Raven, his gaze more serious than ever before.

"Teach me how to properly use this power."

"Of course."

The Three-Eyed Raven seemed very satisfied with Lynn's attitude.

"But you must also fulfill your promise."

"You teach me first." Lynn turned to the Three-Eyed Raven.

"How to properly use a Warg's ability?"

"Once I know, I will naturally go find a suitable candidate for you."

"Feel, don't control."

The Three-Eyed Raven was concise.

"Like this."

As he spoke, his single eye suddenly turned to Ygritte behind Lynn.

Ygritte felt an irresistible will, like a hot spring, gently enveloping her soul.

The feeling was not uncomfortable; on the contrary, it was very pleasant.

It was like soaking in warm spring water on a cold winter night.

It made her unconsciously drop all her defenses.

Then, she heard a voice, directly in her mind.

"Raise your left hand."

Ygritte instinctively wanted to comply.

But just as her hand was about to rise, another thought surfaced.

Why?

Why should I listen to you?

A rebellion originating from deep within the Free Folk's bloodline made her forcibly stop her movement.

That warm will did not force her; it merely receded like a tide.

"Did you see?"

The Three-Eyed Raven looked at Lynn.

"That is feeling."

"I can feel her resistance, feel the pride deep within her soul."

"And not like your method of completely blocking out others' perceptions."

"So I didn't force her, because that would only provoke stronger resistance, ultimately leading to mutual destruction."

"What you need to do is find the cracks in her soul, use your will to guide her, persuade her, and make her willingly serve you."

"This is true Warging; it is communication and resonance at the soul level."

"And not your kind of plunder and control!"

Lynn was thoughtful.

To put it bluntly, if force doesn't work, then use gentleness, prioritize winning the heart.

"I want to try." Lynn said.

"You can, if there really is a problem, I can save you in time."

The Three-Eyed Raven's gaze fell on Ygritte again.

Ygritte shivered, suddenly feeling as if she had been stripped naked.

These two devils!

Are they going to use her as a guinea pig?!

"You… don't come any closer!"

She retreated in terror, her bow and arrow already aimed at Lynn.

"Don't worry, I won't touch you."

Lynn reassured her, a smile he thought was very kind on his face.

He closed his eyes, mimicking the Three-Eyed Raven, and cautiously extended a wisp of his mental power towards Ygritte.

He didn't force his way in.

It was just like a gentle breeze, lightly caressing her taut soul.

Lynn saw it.

He saw the truest scene deep within Ygritte's soul.

It was a wilderness covered in ice and snow, with cold winds howling.

A red-haired little girl stood alone in the wind and snow, clutching a longbow taller than herself, stubbornly looking into the distance.

Around her were the cold corpses of her kin.

In her eyes were an unyielding hatred and sorrow.

And deeper within that wilderness, beneath layers of ice and snow, Lynn also felt a tremor that did not belong to this icy world.

It was like a seed buried beneath the permafrost.

Longing for sunlight, longing for warmth, longing for an embrace she could lean on.

Lynn's heart stirred.

He transformed his mental power into the warmest ray of sunlight, cautiously shining it upon that seed.

Ygritte's body trembled violently.

Her bow and arrow, she didn't know when, had already lowered.

Her gray eyes, always filled with vigilance and stubbornness, were now filled with confusion and mist.

She seemed… to have returned to that cave.

Back to that cold night.

She leaned against a warm and solid chest, smelling that clean scent that brought her immense peace.

It was the most peaceful sleep she had ever had in her life.

"Put down the bow."

Lynn's voice, once again, echoed in her mind.

This time, it was unbelievably gentle.

Ygritte barely hesitated, obediently placing the bow and arrow gently on the ground.

Jon, beside her, was completely dumbfounded.
