The morning of my mating ceremony, I woke to sunlight streaming through the window and the sound of excited voices in the hallway. For a moment, I lay still, letting the reality sink in. Today was the day. Today I will officially become Luna of The Nightshade Pack.
Before I could fully process the thought, my door burst open and Emma, Cassidy, Sarah, and Helena swept in carrying trays of food, flowers, and what looked like an entire beauty salon's worth of supplies.
"No time for daydreaming!" Emma announced cheerfully. "We have exactly five hours to transform you into the most beautiful Luna the wolf world has ever seen!"
"Five hours?" I sat up, alarmed. "The ceremony isn't until sunset. That's more like twelve hours."
"Which is barely enough time," Emma said seriously. "Trust me on this. Now eat this breakfast while we get started on your hair."
