Chapter 36 - Chapter 35 — The Council of Five

After securing the Reality Stone, trouble began almost immediately.

The moment we confirmed it was safely contained, every member of the O5 Council activated their Akatsuki rings and projected their thought-projections into the meeting chamber. And of course—because this was the first Infinity Stone we had ever acquired—the argument erupted instantly.

Five ancient beings, five titanic egos, and one Reality Stone.

It was a disaster waiting to happen.

Darius—O5-3, codename The Watcher—insisted that the Stone should remain untouched in deep containment, used only as a last resort. Julius—O5-2, Sentinel—was neutral at first, simply observing the chaos while the others shouted over one another.

Sun Tzu—O5-4, Factorum—argued strategy, claiming he could utilise the Stone for macro-scale battlefield manipulation should a universal conflict ever arise. Cleopatra—O5-5, Treasure—wanted it secured but available for political leverage, believing its symbolic value alone could shift the balance of countless negotiations.

And me?

I argued that I should possess the Reality Stone.

I was O5-1. The Administrator. The one who orchestrated all of this. The one who personally oversaw the retrieval operation. And the only one who actually understood the dangerous metaphysics behind Infinity Stones thanks to my knowledge from my past life.

At first, the others were… less than cooperative.

The debate dragged on for four long hours—raised voices, logical battles, emotional appeals, tactical reasoning, and at least two moments where Factorum and Cleopatra nearly started warping their projections into duel stances.

But Julius eventually stepped forward on my side.

He didn't need the Reality Stone. And he knew that I did.

His support shifted the entire balance of the Council.

One by one, the others relented—not because they fully agreed, but because they understood the simple truth:

I was the one most capable of using it safely, effectively, and without wasting its potential.

So after hours of arguments, counterarguments, and a few threats that we all pretended not to hear… the Council finally agreed.

I would receive temporary control of the Reality Stone.

Not permanent—not yet—but temporary stewardship until we acquired more Infinity Stones and could establish a long-term plan.

As the meeting ended, our thought-projections dissolved, the Akatsuki rings cooling down from the strain of the debate.

And for the first time since coming to this universe, I felt the weight of something truly cosmic in my hands.

The first Infinity Stone was mine. And the future was beginning to unfold exactly as I intended.
