Chapter 75 - 75: A Beautiful Pirate

Nami's Battlefield

"Pirates, I will not let you run wild on these seas," Vice Admiral Momonga growled, gripping his sword tightly, his eyes fixed on Nami with burning anger.

He had learned about Rolan and his crew, and knew that Nami had suffered greatly because of pirates. Her adoptive mother had died at their hands, and her hometown lay in ruins. He couldn't understand how someone who had grown up amidst such tragedy could still choose to become a pirate.

Nami poked her cheek lightly with her finger, her expression teasing and almost playful. "There are so many treasures in this world, and pirates control them all. I just can't let that happen."

Momonga frowned at her words, finding them oddly amusing. "Isn't that a little ironic? Aren't you a pirate yourself? How are you different from them?"

Nami shook her head and replied with a confident smirk, "Have you ever seen a pirate as beautiful as me?"

The Vice Admiral's grip tightened. "It seems we won't reach any understanding."

With that, he lunged at her, his sword gleaming coldly. Nami barely had time to react, splitting into two dark cloud forms as the blade cut through the air. Her body reformed instantly, and she transformed into a dark cloud, appearing above Momonga.

"Marine comrade, beware of the thunderstorm," she warned.

A lightning bolt as thick as an arm struck down from her cloud, aimed directly at Momonga's head. He reacted instinctively, rolling out of the way. The bolt struck the ice, sending seawater spraying into the air.

Momonga felt a twinge of fear. If that hit me directly…

But the lightning storm continued, bolts falling like relentless rain. Using Observation Haki, he weaved through the strikes, but the density of the attacks soon began to overwhelm him. Several times he was struck, the smell of burnt flesh rising faintly from his clothes.

He braced his body with Armament Haki and surged forward under the cloud, spinning his sword into a deadly blur.

Nami instantly teleported to the ground with another lightning strike, but the storm did not dissipate. Bolts continued to rain down relentlessly.

Momonga sensed her on the ice and teleported in front of her with 'Soru'. His sword cut toward her head with deadly precision.

Nami's hand dove into her chest, pulling out a golden metal staff. With a press of her finger, it extended to 1.6 meters—the Clima-Tact Rolan had entrusted to her.

She held it firmly with both hands, blocking the strike. The force buckled her legs, cracking the ice beneath her. She then transformed into a white cloud and floated to the side, eyes narrowing.

"How can you show no mercy to a beautiful woman?" she asked, her voice laced with playful scorn.

Momonga grimaced, his burned flesh tingling painfully. He realized then that Rolan's crew could not be underestimated; a single mistake could prove fatal.

Franky's Battlefield

Franky grinned, arms raised in his signature pose, cigar clenched between his teeth. "Yo-ow! Happy to see me? Don't faint now!"

Vice Admiral Yamakaji, known for his perpetual grin, squinted at the man before him. "Who are you supposed to be?"

Franky chuckled, thrusting his hands behind him to reveal his mechanical enhancements. "Baka-ya! I'm Franky, Super! Chief Engineer of Rolan's crew. Don't praise me too casually or I'll get proud!"

Yamakaji frowned, realizing this was no ordinary opponent. The intelligence reports hadn't mentioned that Rolan's crew included someone like this.

"You're interfering with a World Government operation. Are you prepared for the consequences?" Yamakaji asked, drawing his sword with a serious expression.

Franky only laughed. "Who do you think I am?"

He reached behind his back and pulled out a light saber. Using a burst of propulsion from his feet, he appeared before Yamakaji, slashing downward.

The Vice Admiral reacted quickly, swinging his sword horizontally to block. But Franky's saber was no ordinary blade. At the point of contact, it dematerialized, phasing through the sword and cutting toward Yamakaji's head.

Yamakaji leapt back ten meters, stunned. The ice below cracked from the sheer force, creating a massive crevice.

"That's not a sword… it's a laser!" Yamakaji exclaimed.

Franky snapped his fingers. "Bingo! No prize for you, though."

Yamakaji's breath quickened. "How is this possible? Only Vegapunk, the World Government scientist, could have created this technology."

Franky grinned proudly. "Who am I? Franky, Chief Engineer of Rolan's crew, of course!"

Realizing the danger, Yamakaji lunged with 'Soru', swinging his sword at Franky. But Franky's calm expression never wavered as the blade pierced his abdomen.

Yamakaji was shocked, not just by the strange sensation, but by Franky's complete composure.

He barely had time to dodge before Franky's laser fired from his palm. Yamakaji managed to move only partially aside, the beam cutting through his shoulder, sending burning pain across his body.

Looking toward the source, he realized with awe that Franky's wounds had already healed. If not for the hole in his clothes, he might have thought the previous strike had been an illusion.
