When Aiden returned to their residence, Ember and the others had not yet arrived. He would not tell them about what happened. It gave them less to worry about. Plus, they were under the protection of Aegis. There was no reason any of them would turn into drones.
Still, a part of him couldn't help but worry. He wanted to tell Ember everything, but knowing they were under surveillance, he decided to wait. Tomorrow, he would have to stay with Valentina and watch what happened to them. If he needed to, he would kill Valentina on the spot.
In Aiden's mind, the day came too quickly. He did not go to work like the others; he went directly to Valentina's private wing. She was already there, with monitors ready to watch the process. He stepped in, and she was reclining in a chair.
"Ready to stay in your new home?" Valentina asked cheerfully.
"I already have a home, I'm not looking for a new one," Aiden responded coldly.
