Chapter 68 - 68: The Apex Godzilla

"Faster! A little faster!"

"Another Titan Beast has appeared. Immediately collect all of its data! This is extremely important for our subsequent research!"

Professor Serizawa led the Monarch Organization team as they rushed to San Francisco.

From a great distance, they observed the combat posture of the Kaiju "Axe Head."

"Based on the axe-shaped structure of its head, we are temporarily naming this Titan Beast Axe Head."

"Body data… approximately ninety-two meters. A beautiful number, only about twenty meters shorter than Godzilla."

"Judging by its appearance, this should be an adult Titan Beast, capable of both land and sea combat."

"Its blood is a blue liquid, containing a certain amino compound that is highly destructive to both humans and the environment."

"It seems different from Godzilla, treating humans and alien invaders equally—no, wait, it actually appears to be more hostile toward the aliens?"

Just as Professor Serizawa was leading the team in analyzing Axe Head's data, his assistant suddenly stared at the computer screen and exclaimed,

"Wait… Professor, this Axe Head only weighs 2,700 tons?"

"What? A Titan Beast can't possibly be that light!"

Professor Serizawa quickly stepped forward, still finding the weight data displayed on the screen difficult to believe.

"Re-examine the data! The software might be wrong. Even a juvenile Titan Beast shouldn't be this light!"

He knew that Godzilla weighed nearly ninety thousand tons; his bones alone weighed more than 2,700 tons.

Moreover, the Titan Beast egg they had previously discovered in Asia far exceeded this weight.

Axe Head was ninety-two meters tall. By all logic, he was an adult Titan Beast.

So how could he be this light?

He was practically like a toy filled with water.

"Professor, the data is correct. Axe Head weighs no more than 3,000 tons!"

Professor Serizawa's thoughts descended into chaos.

Could a three-thousand-ton creature still be considered a Titan Beast?

Could it be that Titan Beasts also had lightweight variants? The shame of the Titans?

Or was it a malformed individual?

This wasn't right.

Just as he sank into deep thought, the sky suddenly darkened.

Boom!!!

A heavy impact, like muffled thunder, erupted as a gigantic lizard crashed down from the sky like a meteor.

Centered on Luke Rowling's feet, a powerful shockwave of dust and shattered stone erupted outward, violently spreading in all directions. The ground within several kilometers trembled fiercely, cracking and groaning under the overwhelming force.

The Unfilial Son of the Earth—no, he should be called the Guardian of the Earth—Luke's Godzilla had officially arrived.

The Godzilla Luke Rowling transformed into differed slightly from the original, but almost no one could perceive those differences.

To the outside world, this Godzilla was that Godzilla.

The instant Godzilla appeared, Professor Serizawa began to tremble uncontrollably.

"It's him! It's him!"

"The Titan Beast—Godzilla!"

He hadn't been mistaken. The invincible Godzilla had appeared once again!

"But… when did Godzilla arrive?"

Professor Serizawa was secretly shaken. "Did he evolve again?? Did he gain teleportation ?"

The moment Luke Rowling appeared, the fiercely battling tripod mecha and Axe Head simultaneously sensed the terrifying threat brought by the intrusion of a third party.

Whether it was his height, approaching one hundred and twenty meters, or his weight—so immense that even the Earth groaned beneath it—

Even though they had never seen Godzilla before, the overwhelming aura of domination he radiated the moment he arrived was enough to make them realize their own insignificance.

Without any communication, the Martian and Axe Head, who had been fighting to the death just moments ago, chose to join forces under Luke Rowling's oppressive presence.

"Roar!!"

Axe Head let out a thunderous roar, seemingly warning Luke to get lost.

Luke, currently immersed in the immense power brought by the Godzilla template, heard the bluster and shot Axe Head a cold glance.

That single look—the predatory gaze of an apex hunter—made Axe Head instinctively draw his neck back.

What a terrifying monster!

Although the difference in height was only about twenty meters, it felt like an insurmountable chasm lay between them.

The tripod mecha moved.

It had never forgotten that it was an alien invader that had come to conquer Earth.

Not some small fry to be chased around by humans, beaten by unknown monsters, and then intimidated by some oversized brute.

Before donning the mecha, it had been nothing more than a defenseless mollusk; being bullied then was understandable.

But after putting on the mecha, it was an invincible giant.

And now you still dared to bully it?

Wouldn't that mean wearing the mecha was pointless?

The tripod mecha stood only twenty meters tall.

To humans, it was enormous.

But in front of Axe Head and Godzilla, it didn't even reach their knees.

Moreover, its body was slender, like a bamboo pole, looking as though it could topple over with a gust of wind.

Nevertheless, the tripod mecha's heat vision—reaching hundreds of thousands of degrees—and its terrifying force-field shield, which ignored all human artillery, were enough to allow it to contend with the powerful Axe Head.

Thus, the Martian attacked.

It opened its mouth and fired its maximum-power heat vision, brazenly striking Godzilla's… knee.

It had done its best, but its height was the limiting factor; it simply couldn't aim any higher.

Sizzle, sizzle~~!

The powerful attack, strong enough to instantly destroy a house and severely injure Axe Head, struck Luke Rowling's knee but failed to even break the outermost layer of skin.

Luke Rowling only felt a faint itch in his knee, and perhaps a bit of warmth.

It was like soaking his feet in warm water.

"Roar! Are you giving me a laser massage?"

The tripod mecha remained silent, desperately continuing to fire its heat vision.

Out of sight, inside the head of the tripod mecha, the Martian's eyes were bloodshot. Its deformed face was twisted in terror, making it look even more hideous.

It seemed to be muttering to itself, "Earth is too terrifying… I want to go home… Mommy! I want my mommy!"

Remembering something, the Martian immediately contacted its kin through the tripod mecha's communication system.

After broadcasting the situation here using a special signal, all the Martians were terrified.

It was bad enough that the Earthlings used hateful bacterial and viral weapons to wipe them out.

But now, even their strongest weapon couldn't harm Earth's monsters?

That overwhelming sense of helplessness made them want to flee immediately.

Just then, the Martian piloting the tripod mecha glanced toward the coastline, where another gigantic monster was breaking through the surface of the water and advancing toward them.

That appearance… was exactly the same as the demon standing right in front of him.

Oh my god—there's more than one monster like this?

"Earth is too dangerous! Run, my people!!"

"Stay away from Earth! Stay away from the Solar System!!"

The Martian, controlling the tripod mecha, moved toward Luke Rowling, his gaze completely fearless of death, as though he intended to use his life to delay the monster and buy time for his people.

Axe Head also noticed the other Godzilla approaching. He lowered his body and roared continuously, before suddenly leaping into the air.

Despite his ninety-two-meter height, he was as agile as a lion, clearly intending to tackle and devour Luke Rowling.

However, Luke Rowling casually waved his foreclaw and smashed Axe Head's head apart with a single swipe.

Then he brought his foot down hard.

The massive Kaiju was instantly crushed into pulp.

Luke Rowling opened his enormous jaws. A dazzling, beautiful pale-blue arc of light surged along his long, streamlined spine as terrifying pale-blue energy rapidly gathered in his throat.

Under the Martian's horrified gaze, the Atomic Breath slammed violently into the force-field shield!

RUMBLE—!!!

The force-field shield that had left humanity helpless lasted only three seconds under the continuous bombardment of the Atomic Breath before shattering completely.

The Atomic Breath continued unabated, instantly tearing the tripod mecha apart.

Luke Rowling stood with one foot on Axe Head and the other on the tripod mecha, silently watching the approaching Shin Godzilla.
