Chapter 28 - 28: Hello Mjolnir

New Mexico was more than three thousand kilometers away from New York.

Luke had never been there before, so naturally he had no magic imprint set in that location.

Which meant he couldn't use teleportation magic.

So, after informing Madison, Luke proudly gave his first absence to the city public high school.

He immediately turned around and bought a plane ticket to New Mexico.

The flight departed at eight in the morning.

By the time he arrived in New Mexico, it was already afternoon.

After saying goodbye to the enthusiastic, long-legged flight attendant, Luke stood alone outside the unfamiliar airport, momentarily feeling a bit lost.

"Wait… where am I supposed to go now?"

Luke only knew that the events of Thor 1 happened somewhere near a small town in New Mexico.

As for the exact location, he had no idea—no familiar faces, no familiar landmarks.

"Hmm. In an environment this complicated, I clearly need someone dedicated to logistics and information support… preferably a top-tier hacker. Maybe even someone from Transformers. That'd be ideal."

"If it were a beautiful woman, that would be even better."

As Luke was thinking that, a black car drifted to a stop right in front of him.

"Thanks, I don't need a ride," Luke said without even looking.

"That's truly a shame. I thought I could get my first customer of the day."

A soft, charming female voice spoke, making Luke raise an eyebrow.

When he checked through his 3D stereoscopic view, he couldn't help but smile.

Well, look at that—an actual beautiful female driver offering ride service.

And the woman in front of him was none other than Natasha!

[Anomaly Object discovered — Natasha, gained 100 anomaly points. Current anomaly points 100 / 1700]

Natasha, dressed in simple casual clothes and sunglasses, was staring straight at Luke.

"Handsome, are you sure you don't need a ride?"

"Of course I do!"

Luke had been worrying about finding a guide—and now one had delivered herself right to him.

Luke opened the car door and got in, instantly slipping into a commanding tone as he ignored Natasha and said, "I want to go try that hammer no one can lift. Do you know where it is?"

Though it sounded like a question, the tone was anything but.

Natasha's heart tightened. She wanted to say she didn't know, but when Luke's indifferent gaze brushed over her, the words stuck in her throat and she swallowed them down.

"Uh, of course… I know the area very well. I'll take you there right now. Buckle up!"

Natasha felt bitter inside, but she had no choice except to follow Luke's instructions.

Because of Luke's importance, Nick Fury didn't dare assign people to tail him too closely, but he still tracked Luke's movements through the network.

When he saw Luke purchase a ticket to New Mexico, Nick Fury immediately grew tense.

Remembering the mysterious hammer Coulson had mentioned, he quickly dispatched Natasha to New Mexico to get a read on Luke's intentions.

Natasha traveled day and night, arriving in New Mexico without rest, then disguised herself as a taxi driver and waited outside the airport—all just to intercept Luke.

But who could have predicted…

Luke really was heading straight for the hammer.

What was even more ridiculous was that Luke hadn't known the way at all—yet Natasha had personally delivered herself to his doorstep to guide him.

This level of outrageousness didn't just break the ceiling; it ripped the entire roof off.

Nick Fury, who had been listening to Natasha through the communicator, felt utterly speechless as he heard the exchange on the other end.

If he'd known it would turn out like this, he would never have sent anyone to wait at the airport.

He should have just let Luke wander New Mexico on his own.

By the time Luke eventually found the hammer by luck, S.H.I.E.L.D. would've already either moved it or figured out the situation surrounding it.

But now? Brilliant.

The hammer was as good as gone.

What were they even supposed to do now?!

"Coulson, 'Thor' will arrive at your location in at most two hours. Do everything you can to move the 084 before he gets there!"

Coulson, who was organizing the setup of the temporary base, froze. If I could move the hammer, would I still be standing here?

"Sir, how did Thor know where the hammer is?"

"Natasha is the driver."

"…"

Coulson slapped his own forehead. Great—there was an insider. Mission failed before it even started.

Hanging up the phone, Coulson immediately shouted over the broadcast, "All units, all units! Thor—Mr. Luke—will arrive in two hours! Transfer all data immediately and evacuate at maximum speed!"

Coulson didn't notice that, aside from Hawkeye, a third figure was also present.

Loki, hidden in stealth, looked slightly puzzled.

Thor… Luke?

Who is that supposed to be?

If Luke was Thor, then what did that make Thor?

Loki had originally planned to visit the nearby town to fool his simple-minded, muscle-headed brother, but now his plans shifted.

He wanted to see for himself what kind of person this so-called "Earth Thor" was.

These days… anyone could casually be called Thor?

What a joke.

Watching Coulson and the rest of the clueless Earthlings try everything and still fail to lift the hammer, Loki couldn't help but let out a cold sneer.

This was a hammer that even he couldn't lift. How could an Earthling possibly succeed?

After exhausting every method and still failing to lift the hammer, Coulson finally gave up.

He ordered all collected data to be evacuated first, leaving behind only a small team of about ten people to await Thor's "glorious arrival."

Two hours later—

"Handsome, the hammer is right here."

Natasha slammed the brakes outside the S.H.I.E.L.D. camp. Luke had already confirmed the location using his 3D stereoscopic view.

"Thanks. Keep the change. The rest is your tip. Nice driving—I'm very satisfied."

Luke pulled out two green bills and tossed them into Natasha's hand. She accepted them with a smile.

But deep down, she was starting to seriously question her own attractiveness.

Wait—am I really that unappealing?

Wasn't Luke supposed to be a notorious flirt? Why wasn't any of her teasing getting a reaction?

Unless…

He already knew who she was?

Natasha's heart tightened. She stared at Luke's retreating figure, suspicion and unease swirling in her chest.

Luke "saw" Natasha's gaze on him, but without looking back, he strolled confidently into the camp.

[Anomaly Objects discovered — Coulson, (Hawkeye) Barton, Loki, Mjolnir. Gained 400 anomaly points. Current anomaly points 500 / 1700]

"Sir, may I ask who you are…?"

Coulson approached with his usual gentle smile, pretending this was their first meeting.

"I'm here to retrieve my hammer."

Since a smiling face shouldn't be met with hostility, Luke didn't bother acting annoyed.

Besides, the 3D stereoscopic view showed Coulson as a yellow dot—neutral.

"Your… hammer? Do you have any proof it's yours?" Coulson asked cautiously. If it really belonged to Luke, why hadn't he known where it was?

"It's simple."

Luke ignored the dozen men in black. He paused briefly when passing a certain someone, then continued toward Mjolnir.

Odin had enchanted Mjolnir—only those who were worthy could lift it.

Luke didn't think he was worthy.

But it didn't matter.

Heh~

He had a cheat.

Luke placed his hand on the hammer, and his mind moved.

Loki, standing not far away, kept a mocking smile on his face, completely convinced Luke would fail.

Until—

[Anomaly Object Mjolnir is being recorded… Recording successful. Gained 5000 anomaly points!]

[Reality Editor upgraded to Version 2.8. Current anomaly points: 1600 / 1900]

The moment Mjolnir was recorded, the hammer was instantly absorbed by the Reality Editor, becoming part of the Item Library.

Luke stored it directly into his inventory slot.

Crackle~~~BOOM!!!

In that instant, the power known as the Power of Thor surged through him, rapidly transforming his body.

Everyone present froze in disbelief.

As for Loki, he instantly panicked.

"No!!"
