Silence dragged on in the throne room until Rebecca. Leviathan mostly shoved back down. finally spoke. Her voice came out flat, icy.
"Somehow I got my control back," she said. "That empress is going to pay."
Her gaze snapped straight to Celina. Recognition hit her like a slap, then rage poured in behind it.
Rebecca stepped forward. Her fingers squeezed the dagger so hard the leather creaked.
"YOU!"
She raised the blade fast, pointing right at Celina's chest.
I moved before I thought about it. grabbed Rebecca's wrist hard and yanked the dagger to a stop inches from skin.
"Stop it," I said, keeping my voice level.
"Celina's working with us now. Once she tells us everything, you can do whatever the hell you want with her."
Rebecca's eyes burned into mine. "How the fuck are we supposed to trust her?"
"I don't trust her," I said. "I literally just told you. you get to do anything you want with her the second she spills everything."
