Chapter 56 - Ch56:

I sat across from Lucy in the dim glow of the study, the air thick with the scent of ancient tomes and flickering candlelight.

As a Kobold, my scales prickled under her gaze. Those piercing emerald eyes that seemed to see through flesh and bone.

She sipped her tea with the grace of a queen, her violet hair cascading like moonlight over her velvet robes.

"You know," she said casually, setting her cup down with a soft clink,

"Leviathan was one of my most promising disciples.

Stubborn, but talented."

My jaw dropped, tail twitching in shock.

Leviathan? The water mage who'd nearly drowned me in our last skirmish?

"Your... disciple? You trained her?"

Lucy smiled, a curve of lips that held secrets sharper than daggers.

Her presence commanded the room.

Elegant in every poised movement, her posture straight as a throne, yet subtly dangerous, like a serpent coiled beneath silk.

One wrong word, and I felt she could unravel me with a whisper.
