Ezekiel's POV
The party sounds dissolved into nothing as I walked further from the chaos. My truck sat waiting under a broken streetlight, the metal cold against my palm when I finally reached it.
The windshield had started to fog from the night air. Bass drums still pounded somewhere behind me, just loud enough to remind me I hadn't gone far enough to escape what just happened.
I slid behind the wheel and slammed the door shut. The quiet hit me like a wall.
My knuckles throbbed from connecting with Kane's jaw. My heart hammered against my ribs like it was trying to break free. Every detail kept playing on repeat - his cocky smirk, that cruel laugh, and then the words that made everything explode.
"Didn't know you had a thing for fat girls, Enzo."
Just thinking about it made my teeth grind together again.
