Leonardo's POV
"Who's angry?"
I raised my voice, letting the sharpness cut through the air. My face felt like thunder, yet I still refused to admit my fury.
She'd never encountered anyone more stubborn than me!
"Listen, I told you I had plans tonight. I went to the airport with my senior to pick up my friend Juliette. We grabbed dinner, then went singing. I know it ate up the whole evening, but I need normal friendships too. I've made this clear before—just because I'm here to comfort you doesn't mean I'll transform into someone else. You can either accept it or not, but I'm not changing."
Veronica laid it all out.
I was too furious to form words. Was she here to take care of me, or drive me to an early grave? At this rate, I'd be dead before twenty-six!
Veronica stepped closer, and I caught the scent of alcohol on her. "Did you drink?"
"Yeah, so what?" I didn't tell her it was because of her that I'd grabbed the bottle. My mood had soured entirely because of her.
