"That reason might have something to do with your father. Is he in Aurelia City recently?"
Her question caught me off guard. "No, he's not. Why are you asking?"
Veronica laid out everything from Joseph's hypnosis session. Joseph had revealed something from years back that explained his strange behavior. With each detail she shared, rage built inside me.
"Damn it! No wonder Joseph can't stand being around him! He bolts every time he sees him!"
Without Veronica's help, I'd never have figured out why my son lost his voice. It was Clark—that bastard uncle of mine—who caused all this.
At such a young age, Joseph had watched a murder unfold. The trauma clearly carved deep wounds in his young mind.
My hands balled into fists as hatred for my uncle consumed me. "If it wasn't for him, my father, and my mother, none of this mess would've happened!"
"Did Joseph mention where he witnessed the murder? Do we know who got killed?"
