Veronica's POV
Liana's rage flared after Leonardo called her a "fly," but something clicked in her mind. She waved her hand right in front of Leonardo's face—he didn't even flinch.
"Wait... can Mr. Nelson actually see me?" she wondered silently.
She'd heard whispers about Leonardo's condition. Everyone knew about his paralysis, and rumors suggested his vision had gotten worse. Maybe he was completely blind now.
Well, if he couldn't see, what was there to compete over?
No way was she going to care for some blind, disabled man.
Let Veronica deal with that mess!
This realization brought Liana instant relief.
She plastered on a fake smile. "Oh, I thought Mr. Nelson had made a full recovery! Anyway, I just wanted to mention—last time you showed up at home, you nearly killed your grandmother with shock. She's in the hospital now. Shouldn't you go say sorry?"
Leonardo's voice came out flat. "Scared that if I show up, she'll drop dead even quicker?"
