Veronica's POV
Obsidian Uriah's voice made my blood freeze, terror shooting straight through me. If he'd managed to get out of that building, what did that mean for Leonardo?
"Move!"
The threat came again, and I felt the sharp point of a blade pressing into my side.
I forced my breathing to steady and gripped the wheel. There was no choice but to drive.

Leonardo's POV
From my vantage point above, I spotted Obsidian Uriah climbing into a car. Racing down from the apartment building, I watched helplessly as the vehicle pulled away. My legs couldn't match four wheels, and I could only stand there as Obsidian Uriah disappeared with Veronica. Panic clawed at my chest.
I should have kept her close. Instead, I'd practically handed her over to a killer.
Frantically, I reached out to Aarav and the team, demanding they move faster, just as Lachlan's patrol car screeched up.
"Mr. Nelson!"
"Lachlan, perfect timing!"
