Veronica's POV
I knew Leonardo would discover the truth about the kids eventually, so I stopped resisting his determination. "Fine, I'll bring you to them. But I have to ask—what's the point when you can't even see them?"
Leonardo fell silent. Could she please stop poking at his vulnerabilities?
Up front, Tony was practically choking back laughter. He had the exact same question! How did Mr. Nelson plan to see anything in his condition?
"Even without sight, I can still sense them," Leonardo said, forcing optimism into his voice. He craved involvement in their world, yearned to understand what having two sons felt like, vision or no vision.
I didn't push back. Leonardo immediately commanded Tony to drive.
As we headed back toward the city, my phone buzzed—Jameson calling.
"Hi, Jameson. What's wrong?"
"Veronica, can you get over here? I discovered something while sorting through Dad's belongings."
"Of course, I'm on my way."
