Veronica's POV

Daniel spun around and gestured toward me.

The entire room fell silent again, every pair of eyes shifting in my direction. Elder Philip inquired, "Does Joseph's mother have artistic skills?"

"Oh no, not really. I barely understand anything about it. Joseph just picked up a casual interest—he caught some programs on television and taught himself," I responded, trying to downplay my role. I didn't want to seem presumptuous, particularly in front of Elder Philip, such a celebrated artist. Better to stay humble.

"Remarkable! Absolutely remarkable! This boy possesses extraordinary talent—completely self-taught!" Elder Philip grew more animated by the moment. He continued, "Joseph hasn't secured a teacher yet, correct? What if he learned painting under my guidance?"

Nobody had anticipated this turn of events. Elder Philip, famous for turning down every apprenticeship request, was suddenly extending an invitation to Joseph. This had never happened before.
