As a "super Terra native," Talulah could talk the whole night without feeling tired. But morning came, and as a leader she still had countless things to handle.
"I'll be going now, Yu Jin." Talulah waved and turned away.
"See you." Yu Jin waved back.
When her figure disappeared completely, he turned toward the tent with disgust.
The Doctor stumbled out, freshly awake, yawning.
"Morning, Yu Jin."
Yu Jin: "Spying while lying there—fun?"
The Doctor gave a thumbs-up. "Actually, yeah. Kind of has that voyeuristic thrill. By the way, how's your body? You okay now?"
"As you can see, I'm fine."
"Good, good." The Doctor nodded, then scooted closer with a gossiping grin. "So? How was it?"
"How was what?"
"Chatting all day with a dragon-type beauty. How was last night?" The Doctor elbowed him teasingly.
Yu Jin, who had listened to that whole 'wild history' last night: "…"
"…Why that face? Like you just ate shit."
"And you've eaten it before, huh? Running your mouth like that." Yu Jin shoved him aside and walked off.
"Where you going?" the Doctor followed.
Yu Jin: "To find something to eat. You might not be hungry, but I am."
"You say that and now I'm starving too… though why don't we have Kevin send food over? Didn't he already hit financial freedom?"
"…Good point. Doctor, your brain really is something."
"Obviously."
—
7:30 a.m.
Sunlight spilled into the room.
Kevin slowly opened his eyes, stared at the ceiling for a bit, then closed them again. After a while he finally sat up.
"I turned off the alarm, but I still woke up at this time. Habit really is terrifying."
After washing up, Kevin opened the door.
A pink-haired girl passed by, then paused when she saw him and greeted him.
"Yo! Morning, Kevin. Didn't you say you wanted to sleep in today? Why are you up so early?"
"Morning, Elysia." Kevin nodded back, then sighed a little. "I'm used to waking up early. Hard to change it overnight."
"Aww, that's rough. But still, you're on vacation today—make sure you rest." She smiled.
"Thanks."
"I've got stuff to do, so I'm off." She waved and trotted away.
Watching her lively figure, Kevin headed out too. He wanted breakfast.
Golden Courtyard.
That was where he lived now.
A luxurious villa—and also a shared rental house.
Its owner was the world-famous superstar, Eden.
No one knew why Eden rented out a place like the Golden Courtyard.
But through twists of fate and coincidence, the villa now housed thirteen people—including Eden herself.
After locking up and pocketing the key, Kevin walked down the mountain road.
"Everything's great here except it's kind of far from the city. Maybe I should buy a scooter."
After twenty minutes of walking, he reached the city and his usual breakfast shop. He ordered his regular bowl, then sat down scrolling his phone.
Video after video that he used to love played by. He smiled faintly. Then the videos ran out, and his breakfast arrived.
Looking at the steaming noodles, Kevin suddenly felt bored.
He checked the time. It wasn't even nine yet.
After he finished eating, what would he do?
For the first time, he genuinely didn't know.
Back when he worked, days ran on rails—the grind to clock out, the downtime to recharge for the next grind. Entertainment filled the cracks.
Life looked full.
But now he didn't need to work anymore. That once-crowded schedule suddenly had a giant hole in it.
"…Maybe I should go find a job again. Or open a shop."
He picked up his chopsticks—
And the group chat popped up.
Flamebearer: "Kevin bro! Bro! Bring your little bro some food!"
College Kid: "Hungry hungry begging for food, Kevin bro I'm starving, please bring me something. Yu Jin can do everything!"
Flamebearer: "?? Why are you so selfish?!"
Stellaron Gremlin: "Food delivery? Bring me something too!"
Kevin looked at the messages, and a smile spread across his calm face.
So he still had things to do.
"Boss, pack three more bowls for me. Oh—and pack this one too, thanks."
"Eh, that one won't taste good if it sits too long," the boss reminded him kindly.
Kevin smiled. "It's fine. Eating alone is boring. Better to eat with friends."
"Ahh, got it! I'll get them ready quick." The boss started cooking faster than usual.
A few minutes later, four people sat on low stools.
"So good! Seriously!" Yu Jin slurped a huge bite and gave Kevin a thumbs-up.
The Doctor nodded hard. "I love this tripe so much. Can you bring me breakfast for the rest of my life? Please!"
"Noodles. Good." Stelle also gave a thumbs-up and kept shoveling them in.
Watching the three of them eat with pure joy, Kevin laughed too.
"Not bad, right? I eat here every morning. But it's best fresh in the shop. Next time I'll take you guys there."
Yu Jin: "Then we have to go."
Doctor: "Yeah, and I heard Kevin has a girlfriend."
Stelle: "He says it was love at first sight, but I know it was lust at first glance! I swear on my identity as a Herta Space Station researcher—his girlfriend must be insanely pretty!"
"Hey! Stop fixating on my girlfriend!"
Yu Jin: "I know what she looks like!"
"Don't you dare say it!"
"I'll hold him down—talk!" the Doctor shouted.
"Glasses, purple hair…" Yu Jin started listing features.
The Doctor and Stelle kept making excited "Ooooooh!" noises.
Kevin felt like his tastes were being exposed—embarrassing, but… weirdly not unpleasant.

Lungmen, City Hall.
At the very heart of Lungmen. The tallest building in the city.
And on its topmost floor—only one office existed.
The elevator rose, slower than usual, as if weighed down by the number of people inside.
The city hall was unnaturally silent today, as though someone had muted the entire building.
When the elevator reached the top floor, the doors opened.
Figures in bamboo hats stepped out and formed two lines, waiting—not for a guest, but for someone who was not a guest.
Then a green-haired figure walked forward.
Surrounded by watchers, she showed no fear at all—or perhaps she simply didn't regard them as worth noticing. Or perhaps she was being controlled.
The Black Coats encircled her tightly. To outsiders it might look like protection, but in truth they were poised to cut her down the second she moved wrong.
The door to the only office was already open.
Inside stood a dragon—more precisely, an Elder.
The supreme ruler of Lungmen—Wei Yenwu.
His sharp eyes locked onto the green-haired woman.
Only after she sat down did he speak.
"Rhodes Island. Tell me what you intend to do."
"You have no right to ask," the green-haired woman said calmly.
Metal rang—blades flashed out, pressed to her neck. Yet she didn't even blink.
Wei Yenwu stared at her for a long time, then lifted a hand.
"Do not be rude to Lady Kal'tsit. Put your swords away."
The Black Coats withdrew their blades at once, as if the threat had never happened.
"My apologies. My men are overly tense. Please don't take offense." Wei Yenwu said "apologies," but his voice was cold as ice.
A tone like this shouldn't belong to Lungmen's ruler.
But how else was he supposed to face the culprit who had controlled his niece—and even every Infected in Lungmen?
Lungmen was in chaos. A chaos unlike anything before.
Kal'tsit seemed oblivious to his anger. "Hand over the mobile city key."
"What is it you—Rhodes Island—are trying to do?"
"I said you have no right to ask."
Wei Yenwu narrowed his eyes. He'd hoped to squeeze a hint from her.
But her attitude was pure command—calm, dismissive, absolute.
He inhaled. "Before that, I want to ask… how is my niece?"
Kal'tsit looked at him silently, showing no intention of answering.
Wei Yenwu gave up. There would be no clues from her. None.
The air tightened like a drawn bow.
Black Coats put their hands back on their weapons, waiting.
Then footsteps sounded in the corridor.
Tap. Tap. Tap.
Even. Measured. Identical.
"Who would come here at a time like this?" Wei Yenwu frowned and looked down the hall.
The door was open—he saw the figure immediately.
That was… Ch'en.
And her face was expressionless, just like Kal'tsit.
Cold. Puppet-like.
Wei Yenwu's rage finally exploded.
"Take her down!"
A terrifying surge of Chi Xiao sword aura burst from him.
Today, he would keep this woman here for good!
His outburst was a signal.
The Black Coats struck together, slashing toward Kal'tsit—
But in that same moment, Kal'tsit raised her head.
A grotesque beast erupted behind her, silent and calm, blocking every attack.
At once, Wei Yenwu gathered Chi Xiao in his hand and cut—
His strike was about to land—
When another Chi Xiao aura, with a ringing blade-song, ripped his aura apart.
In his shocked eyes—
Chi Xiao—pierced him.
Wei Yenwu looked down at his niece's blade running through his abdomen.
The next second, the sword was yanked out, and a savage kick smashed into his chest!
Wei Yenwu flew backward, shattered the glass, and fell straight out of the top floor.
City Hall was Lungmen's highest building. If he hit the ground from this height, even Wei Yenwu wouldn't survive.
If he were in full form, maybe he could land safely.
But Chi Xiao aura was raging inside him. He had to suppress it or he would be torn apart from within.
Either way—death.
"What did they do to Ch'en?! Her Chi Xiao is even stronger than mine!"
The ground rushed closer.
He was going to die—
But then sand exploded upward, wrapping around him and whisking him away from City Hall.
Seconds later, Kal'tsit stepped to the shattered window with Ch'en beside her.
Behind them, the Black Coats lay on the floor—not dead, but marked by something new on their bodies.
Kal'tsit watched Wei Yenwu vanish, still expressionless.
Because she already had what she came for.
She handed the mobile city key to Ch'en.
Ch'en took it blankly and walked away. They exchanged no words.
All of that had happened before Yu Jin ever arrived in this world.
And now, Lungmen surged forward with unstoppable momentum—heading straight for Chernobog.
