Chapter 121 - "Pro Player" Tsezguerra

Without a doubt, for a couple who had just experienced a separation between life and death, what they needed most was time to talk, to understand exactly what had transpired during that lost interval.

Consequently, both Allen and Tsezguerra quickly exited the ward, allowing Battera and his "true love" some privacy.

Leaning against the wall of the hospital corridor, Tsezguerra was the first to speak, prodding for information. "What exactly was that ability you used? And what's with that unbelievable recovery rate? For a normal person, an injury of that magnitude would result in death within minutes."

"My apologies, but I'm not in the habit of explaining my abilities to a potential competitor," Allen replied, flatly cutting off the man's unrealistic expectations.

"Competitor? Ah! So you intend to enter Greed Island as well." Tsezguerra stroked his chin, a playful smile playing on his lips.

As a Single-Star Hunter with his own professional team, he never feared competition, especially fair competition from a peer. In fact, he rather enjoyed the sensation of triumphing over an opponent. Moreover, he had already collected a vast array of cards; he wasn't about to be easily overtaken by a novice who hadn't even set foot in the game yet.

Allen nodded without a second thought. "Exactly. However, my goal is different from yours. I have zero interest in the massive prize money, nor do I care about clearing the game. I'm only looking for a few specific items that interest me."

"Oh? Why not tell me what they are? Perhaps I already have what you're looking for. We could even make a trade," Tsezguerra suggested proactively.

Clearly, he was intensely interested in that miraculous healing method. Even in the world of Nen, an ability capable of instantaneously repairing a damaged brain was exceedingly rare. If he could trade a few cards for a chance at such a treatment, it would be an absolute bargain.

"Trade? No, I think you've mistaken me for an average player. This time, I don't plan on trading with anyone. I intend to take what I want by force. Anyone holding a card I'm interested in will immediately become my hunting target," Allen stated bluntly, declaring his plan for the game.

"Take it? Don't you know that all items in the game are stored in a binder once they become cards? Unless the holder voluntarily summons them, you can't get the cards even if you kill them," Tsezguerra mocked with a condescending air.

"Kill? Why resort to something so extreme and foolish? Believe me, controlling a person isn't as difficult as you imagine. If you don't believe me, you can enter the game with me. You'll understand what I mean soon enough."

As he spoke, Allen's eyes shimmered with blatant, undisguised provocation.

If he remembered correctly, this man's binder likely contained quite a few valuable cards. It would be best if he could just seize them directly. Under the influence of Baise's Instant Lover, any male would succumb instantly; there was virtually no possibility of the "robbery" failing.

Unfortunately, Tsezguerra was unaware of this. Maintaining the pride unique to a "Pro Player," he responded, "Fine! My teammates happen to be waiting near the starting point. Let's see what the 'Grim Reaper' is truly capable of."

"It's a date then. Also, just to keep things fair, if you win, I'll tell you exactly what that healing ability is and give you one free use of it."

To ensure the man wouldn't flee halfway, Allen decisively laid out the bait. In this older man, he sensed the arrogance and contempt that "high-end players" often felt toward newbies, a strange sense of superiority he intended to dismantle.

In reality, the items Allen was truly interested in were few. The most important was Card No. 067: Doyen's Growth Pills (B-30).

That's right. Not Angel's Breath, and not the Witch's Rejuvenation Potion. Just a medicine that, when consumed, makes a person grow taller.

The reason was simple: he had lost all hope in his body's natural growth rate. He intended to use external help to reach 180cm first. After all, Allen had ruthlessly mocked Feitan's height in the past; he didn't want a day to come where he himself became the target of a rival's ridicule. While 170cm wasn't exactly short, it wasn't tall either. 180cm felt much safer.

Just as Tsezguerra was about to say more, the billionaire Battera finally finished his emotional reunion and emerged from the ward. Wiping tears from the corners of his eyes, he spoke with sincere gratitude: "Thank you for everything you've done! I guarantee that every verbal promise I made will be fulfilled within the next few days."

"Don't mention it; we're just exchanging what we need. If there's nothing else, I'd like to head to the Greed Island game world immediately. Is that alright?" Allen requested impatiently.

He didn't want to waste time in a place like this. The sooner he entered the game, the sooner he could start his operation. Within Greed Island, besides the height pills, there were many other fascinating items well worth investigating.

"Of course! I'll arrange for someone to take you to where the consoles are kept immediately." Battera pulled out his phone and contacted his private blimp.

Only half an hour later, the group took to the skies, flying toward a luxury villa over a hundred kilometers away. According to their agreement, ownership of all the game consoles and the three cards obtained upon clearing the game would now belong to Allen.

For the billionaire, he had achieved his goal. Greed Island no longer held any meaning for him. Now, his only desire was to take his girlfriend on a world tour, using his remaining time to enjoy their life together without any further regrets.

Sitting on the blimp and looking down at the couple with their massive age gap, Baise finally couldn't help but ask, "Do you really believe that young girl is with him for love and not for his wealth?"

"Does it matter?" Allen asked with a smile.

"Look at the expression of happiness on Battera's face. Regardless of the girl's motives, as long as this intimacy is maintained until he passes away, she is entitled to her inheritance. She gave Battera the thing he craved most, and the inheritance is her earned reward. Effort and reward, it's quite straightforward, isn't it?

"Besides, after all this trouble, Battera doesn't have much of his fortune left anyway. Even if the girl was acting, she should be somewhat moved by such a selfless sacrifice. So, barring any surprises, they should walk together until the very end."

"Oh? I didn't realize you were a relationship expert. Though, I highly doubt you've ever actually been in love at your age."

Baise suddenly leaned in close, crossing her legs in a highly seductive pose. She wanted to see if she could break Allen's calm facade and make him show a hint of panic, shyness, or embarrassment.

Unfortunately, Allen showed zero interest in such playful flirtation. He simply stared out at the scenery and let out a yawn.

What a joke! Before he transmigrated, he had seen plenty of "world-class performances." Small scenes like this didn't move him in the slightest. Even if someone were performing "live" right in front of him, he could sit there expressionless, and perhaps even offer some technical pointers if requested.
