Chapter 7 - Chapter Seven

Cecilia stared at Bryan who's smile remained on his lips. He called her pretty out of nowhere, was he expecting her to blush her face out or what?

"Listen to me Mr b…"

"It's just Bryan. No need for the formalities." He said but Cecilia had her own ideas

"I really don't care whether there's a Mr or not. Please you're making me uncomfortable so can you just stop it. Stop staring would you." she felt frustrated. Too many things were happening to her at the same time.

"Hey, I was just smiling at you. Can't a man smile anymore?" He said, "It's not like I was going to propose to you princess." He said

"Still, I just….."

'I never said I was going to propose to you princess.'

That voice. It played in her head subtly as unclear images begin to flash before her eyes.

"You really don't remember anything do you?" She looked up at him, confused at his words and at the voices and memories trying to come together in her head.

"Wait, have we met before please?" She finally asked, earning a chuckle from Bryan.

"We've more than met doll." With that, he takes few steps closer to her, robbing her of her personal space which he now stood in. He leaned down, his face getting closer to hers

"What are you doing?" Cecilia said with panic as she tried to move away but she was trapped against the wall.

Finally turning to look at him, he moved his mouth towards her ears, "Aren't you curious about what happened last night?" What had happened and how you had gotten home?"

Confusion washed over her face at first, until memories, unclear and blurry ones of last night began to flash clearly before her eyes in full force.

'Cry all you want first. I'd wait.'

'I could run away.'

'Whenever you're ready to run, just tell me so I can come pick you up.'

She began hearing the voices as everything came crashing at her in a frenzy. She looked back at Bryan as her memory replayed the man she had been with yesterday at the club.

Oh no!

"With the terrified expression on you face, I believe you're starting to get the memories back." There was a satisfied look on his face, while it was the opposite for Cecilia.

It wasn't the fact that they had met at the club that made her legs go weak, instead it was the memory of kissing him that flashed through her head that did. But she couldn't remember anything after that.

"Did..did something happen between us?"

She hoped he would say otherwise.

"If nothing did, I wouldn't have approached you don't you think so princess?"

Cecilia felt her heart drop. He couldn't be serious.

"Did you…take advantage of me?"

"I wouldn't have done anything if I didn't see you wanted it. And last night really was something for the both of us." Bryan said, a glint of excitement in his eyes.

But Cecilia felt she was about to go crazy. She had slept with a complete stranger? And not just a stranger anymore but Vincent's Brother?

It dawned on her as memories of earlier this morning began to make sense. She had woken up with a slight pain she didn't understand. Now it all made so much sense.

"Princess…" he reached to touch her but she immediately swatted his hand away.

"Don't touch me." Her voice was cold as the tears which she tried to hold in had begun swelling up in her eyes.

She had never slept with anyone before in her life. How could she had been so careless to give out her virginity just like that? And in such a ridiculous situation.

"C'mon, don't you think you're probably overthinking…."

"Overthinking?" She glared at him, her hands clenched into a tight fist. "You took advantage of my situation and slept with me and you call it overthinking? Are you a lunatic or something?"

"Well things wouldn't have been So bad if the person you were getting drunk over wasn't my brother."

It was then Cecilia remembered Vincent. She was supposed to get married to him but what exactly would happen when his whole family and hers find out she had slept with Bryan?

"Excuse me, I have to go." This time, she pushed her way through as she left the hall way. Tears began seaming down her eyes as she approached the dinning area.

She cleaned off an amount that had stained her face before entering the room.

"I'm sorry, but I have to leave."

"Honey, what…." Before anyone could say anything, she walked out of the room while Kofi immediately rose from his seat to rush after her.

"Ceci slow down." He called out to her as she moved to pick up her bag without glancing back at anything.

"Cecilia." Reaching close enough, he grabbed at her hands and swirled her around.

The sight of her tear stained face shocked him and she immediately broke her gaze with him.

"Did something happen? Did someone say or do…" she cut him off

"Kofi…" her voice was breaking, "please I just want to go home. Can you take me to my apartment?"

______

It's been days, three days to be exact since the dinner they had at the Quinn's Mansion and since Cecilia found out she had slept with the Quinn's oldest son. In that span of those days, Cecilia hadn't left her apartment to go anywhere nor had she accepted any calls or visits whatsoever.

George had come various times to try and see her but her brother Kofi who would be staying at her apartment for the short time he would be in the country had gone to entertain their father instead. She just haven't been able to share or look anyone in the eye since then. An unmeasurable amount of guilt just kept piling in her each second and minute.

Finally, a knock sounded against her door while she stood in front of her dressing mirror.

"Kofi?" As she called out, the door was pulled open and her brother walked in.

"Hey bone head, how are you feeling?" He asked; headed towards her.

Cecilia smiled the moment he got closer. "I'm much better as you can see. I'm even headed out." She said, making reference to her outfit.

She didn't tell Kofi either about what had happened and he decided not to ask further until she was ready to talk. Besides Kofi, she had never had any other guy at such an emotional level all her life.

"Where to?"

"Umm.. I have to head to the office." She told him as she turned to style her hair

"I thought you said they fired you?"

She nodded, "indeed. But I have to go submit files and records to Mr Quinn. Both the ones I have in my laptop and at my desk. I'd probably go clear up the desk later when work is over." She explained.

Turning around, she spread her hands out, a smile lighting up her face, "how do I look?"

Kofi smile at his baby sister, "pretty."

A satisfied look colored her expression as she turned to arrange her things.

"But are you sure you'd be okay meeting with him? With the whole arrangement now, I don't know…."

"Kofi…" she cut her brother off, a sigh escaping her lips. "I don't want to think of that, I don't want to think of that day, or the dinner or the engagement. I really don't."

A tired look colored her face immediately which she had tried to hold in since she woke up. "I just want to have one normal day, like I used to. So can we drop this topic now?"

Kofi smiled at her as he reached out to ruffle her hair and she screamed.

"Jesus Christ bro, I just styled this hair."

"You're more grown now than I had in my head." He teased while she passed him a death glare. "Come down for breakfast when you're done."

With that, he quickly rushed out of the room before Cecilia could hit him with anything.

Getting to the company, Cecilia took in deep breaths. She planned not to stay for up to an hour, just give him the documents and leave. No too much talk nor explanations. She hoped it would be as easy as she made out in her head.

As she made her way into the building, she picked an elevator to take her to the floor she was headed. Reaching the floor, she made her way past the Employees section, but there was something off the moment she stepped in.

Half of the glances from the employees where directed towards her which she couldn't understand. They were whispers as she passed through them as more eyes took in her presence.

Did something happen all the while she wasn't at the office?

Finally, she reached her desk and her eyes landed on the door directly in front of her.

Vincent's office.

Now that she was here, fear which she wasn't expecting suddenly creeped in again and she didn't even know how or where to even begin. She moved around to settle herself in her seat. She was really going to miss working here, not as a P.A but because of the experience had gotten so far.

She moved down to open her drawer. There was a knock against her table. She hadn't even been here for how long and someone already…..

Her hearts dropped when she looked up and saw Vincent standing in front of her table, his eyes zeroed in on her.

"Wasn't expecting to see you here." He said.
