Why can't they fight the late stage qi gathering spirit beast at all?
Well, they were already having a hard time piercing through the skin of a mid stage qi gathering beast.
For the late stage, it would be impossible to even scratch it.
The beast would also have more power and speed.
One hit from it can shatter all bones inside the three's bodies.
Even Cloud who have a stronger physical strength wouldn't be able to withstand this at all.
"If it is beyond the late stage of qi gathering, then death is our only future." Replied Fang Yue to Xiao Fan.
"No matter what, let's do our best to escape. As soon as it moves away from the way out, run with all your might." Said Cloud.
The two nodded in agreement to his words. Nobody is dumb enough to think about fighting the beast.
Without any prior discussion, everyone has silently agree to flee.
Just as Cloud finished that sentence, the boar roar again in rage. It is preparing to charge as soon as it turn to see the three.
After briefly grieving for the mid stage qi gathering boar, it turns its attention to the three right away.
"Scatter!" Said Cloud.
The three run toward different directions right away.
But to the shock of the three, the boar doesn't immediately chase after anyone. Instead, it turns toward the path that lead to the intersection and start hitting the wall and ceiling around that path.
The ceiling at that path is lower. Only about as high as the massive boar.
It is different than the ceiling around this massive cave section that have a height of around ten meters.
The boar's attack easily destroy part of the wall and ceiling.
The fragments of the wall and ceiling becomes big rocks that fall and block the path.
The three look on with dread as they see that the escape route is blocked.
This would make it so much harder for them to escape.
Beside that entrance there isn't any other path around this area of the cave.
There is only the small opening with the jutting wall at the height of about five meters up.
It is not a height that the three can currently reach at their level with a jump.
But since there isn't any other way, they have to think of a way to reach it.
"Go for the rock above! Escape from there!" Shouted Cloud to the stunned two.
The two then quickly remember the time they peek down this area from above.
They look up and find the jutting rock with a way out.
It relit the hope in the two's hearts that was almost overwhelmed by despair.
Everyone then moves right away.
But they have to be careful about it because even though they can jump three meters then climb the wall for the rest of the way. But if the boar is charging at them as they're climbing, they wouldn't have enough time to reach the way out before being crushed into meat paste by the boar.
Seeing that the three are moving around, the boar doesn't stay idle and start charging toward them.
When the three scattered, Fang Yue was unknowingly running toward the direction of the way out. So she is the closest to it.
A distance away is Xiao Fan who is the second closest while Cloud is the furthest.
It doesn't take long for Fang Yue to reach the wall. She jump and start climbing the wall right away.
She even skillfully use her whip to climb faster. It doesn't take long for her to reach the top of the jutting wall.
She turn to look toward the two after she reached the top.
From Fang Yue's point of view, she can see Xiao Fan and Cloud running toward the wall.
Cloud is running far behind Xiao Fan because he is the furthest away from the wall.
As they are running, the two keep checking the position of the boar. The boar is already charging at this point.
It is aiming straight toward Xiao Fan.
Seeing this, Xiao Fan became frantic so he try to run faster. But he is already running at his top speed.
It is harder to see from Xiao Fan's perspective, but from Fang Yue's and Cloud's who are watching from a distance, they can see that Xiao Fan wouldn't be able to make it to the wall before being hit by the boar.
Seeing this, the two quickly think of a way to help.
After thinking, Fang Yue can only come up with helping Xiao Fan with her whip so that he can get up faster.
But even doing so wouldn't be enough to avoid the charging boar.
Cloud however is a bit conflicted. An idea comes up in his mind. An idea that he doesn't want to do at all.
But Cloud only grit hit teeth and choose to do it in the end. He turn and run straight toward the boar while drawing his short blade.
Even though he run straight toward the boar, there is still some distance between the two so Cloud wouldn't be able to help Xiao Fan at this rate.
But since he is now close enough, he threw his blade straight toward the boar's eye to distract it.
Cloud's blade flew straight into the boar's eye but the boar see it coming and it moves its head to parry the oncoming blade.
It is successful at parrying the blade but Cloud is also successful at distracting it.
The boar turn and charge toward Cloud instead.
Cloud quickly run away when he sees that.
He's definitely wouldn't be able to make it to the way out now, so he run into another way instead while thinking of a plan to dodge the boar's oncoming attack.
From seeing Xiao Fan, Cloud knows that he definitely wouldn't be able to outrun the boar.
Dodging to right and left are also not an option because the boar is too big that it can easily hit him if Cloud try to go past it from the left or right.
Jumping over it is also something that he can't do.
If he can jump that high then he would've jump onto the jutting rock wall instead, which is about the same height.
