"Proceed!" The middle aged man command.
"Sir!" The other man answer, then he leave to handle the competition right away.
They are in the city lord's mansion. The middle aged man is the city lord of River City.
The competition will be held in the mansion's open area.
"Nephew please!" The city lord gesture to the young man beside him.
"City Lord is too polite. Please, after you!" They young man gesture back with a smile.
The city lord doesn't refuse. He nod and walk first. The young man follow behind him.
They walk toward a pavilion beside the open area in the city lord's mansion.
When they arrive, all the participants are already waiting. Even some of the participant's relatives are around to watch.
They stood quietly at the side. Nobody dare to make a ruckus.
On the open area, there is one elevated platform. Beside that, there are also four marked areas that is the same size as the platform.
Those will be where the competition is held.
The pavilion is elevated even higher than the platform so you can see everything from there.
After arriving at the pavilion, the city lord invite the young man to sit. He then proceed to the platform right away.
"Everyone should already understand the point of this competition, so I won't say much. This competition is held for the purpose of gathering young talent to be recruited by the Bright Moon sect. Compete and the top three will have a chance to enter the sect. Now, as the city lord, I officially announce that the competition begins!"
The crowd cheers as the city lord leave the platform. His speech move the people.
The young children participating are particularly roused by the speech.
Entering a sect is the dream of everyone.
If you succeed you would get a lot of recourses, guidance from seniors and elders, and most importantly, the backing and protection from a powerful force.
After the city lord step out of the platform, one of his people began to announce the rules.
The rule is simple. Ten people enter each arena at once and the last man standing move to the next round.
Weapons are not allowed. To defeat an opponent you have to throw them out of the arena, make them give up, or leave them unable to fight.
Killing is not allowed.
After explaining the rules, the people from the mansion start to organize the participants.
Ten people enter each arena. There are five arenas so 50 people start.
The entry is decided by the registration number so 1 to 10 enter the first arena then 11 to 20 enter the second and so on.
The competition soon begin. Cloud hasn't been called yet so he watch. His registration number is quite high because he registered late.
The participants soon fight in all arenas. There is one person in each arena to act as referee so all arenas can start pretty much at once.
Cloud watch for some time but he soon find it boring. It's because most participants are just fifth stage and below.
There is just one girl at the elevated arena that seems interesting.
She's taking it easy. She doesn't put in any effort at all.
Yet, nobody can touch her. She swiftly avoid any attacks and push everyone out of the arena.
She is the first to win and winners soon appears on the other arenas as well.
The second batch then come onto the arenas
On this batch, the only noticable one is a boy on the elevated arena.
He just plays with his opponents while laughing. He is just enjoying himself without care.
The second batch winners soon appears.
The boy on the elevated arena actually finished last because he keeps playing.
Nobody interesting comes out after that.
The third batch, four, five is where Cloud enter the arena then six.
Cloud was in the flat arena. He didn't show off and just throw the opponent that came after him out of the arena with a kick.
He easily win without drawing too much attention.
The first round of the competition is done.
Out of 300, 30 remains.
The next round then begin.
On the next round the rules are the same. 6 people enter each arena and one comes out as the winner.
The battle on this round is longer compared to the first round because there are less people on the arena and they all are the stronger ones.
Unexpectedly on this round, Cloud is the first to finish. The girl finish just seconds after him.
She look at Cloud for a moment then she step down from the elevated arena.
The others soon finish. The boy who played in the first round also win. But he won last again this time. He still plays with his opponents.
Five participants are left for the next stage.
Cloud, the girl, the boy who doesn't stop playing and two others.
