In Ethan’s mansion, Nyssa faces challenges, including Ethan’s jealous ex, Ava, who attacks her. Despite his coldness, Ethan shows unexpected care when Nyssa gets hurt, revealing cracks in his icy exterior. Chapter 1 - Collision

"I'd rather crawl through fire than marry a cold hearted man like you", she snapped, leaving Ethan speechless.

Nyssa's POV

I was in my office, working on my computer and reviewing a document I was holding, when my phone rang loudly, causing a few employees to turn. I smiled awkwardly, waved my hand, and exited the office.

I am Nyssa Daniel, featured with warm almond-shaped eyes shimmering and framed by long lashes, concealing a quiet strength beneath my delicate, almost fragile beauty. My hair is naturally dark brown and falls in loose waves, which I frequently tie up.

She is a hardworking and compassionate young woman who lost her parents in a car accident and has been caring for her younger sister, Lily, who is still in shock after their parents' death and has become seriously ill. Her greatest fear is losing her only family Lily

NYSSA'S POV

I left my office and answered the phone; all I heard was my friend's heavy breathing.

"What's up, Gigi? What is the matter?" Nyssa say

"There is a problem. I was helping Lily with her school project when she told me she was dizzy, so I rushed in to get her water. When I returned, I saw Lily on the floor, unconscious. Could you please come to City Hospital as soon as possible?"

Gigi responds,

Nyssa returned to her desk with tears in her eyes, quickly gathering her belongings and running to the HOD's office.

The head of the department's office

Mr Jones, the head of department 2 at MESH TECH, was on a call with a wild smile on his face when he was interrupted by a loud knock on his door.

He dropped the phone and yelled,

"Come in."

Nyssa opened the door. "Miss Nyssa, what is your problem? Why have you already ruined my smile?" Mr. Jones says with a frowned face, Nyssa stood still, breathing heavily as if she had run a marathon."

"Good day, Sir. My baby sister is very ill. I just got a call; she was rushed to the hospital. I really should be there.

"Mrs. Jones looked out the window, sipping his steaming coffee. You can leave, but make sure you finish the presentation for the new boss by tomorrow, because the new boss will be back anytime soon." Nyssa nodded and quickly left the office.

She was on her way to the bus stop.

She felt her heart racing with worry. The thought of her sister's condition consumed her, but she knew she needed to get to the hospital as soon as possible.

When Nyssa arrived at the hospital, she saw a tall man with sharp features and a calm, composed demeanor, he was dressed in a tailored suit, his dark hair neatly styled, and his cool hazel eyes remained steady and unreadable. He bumped into her and walked past without saying anything.

At the time, she was filled with concern for her sister and rage against him.

She yelled angrily and grabbed his suit, exclaiming,

"Are you blind, or are you just acting dumb?, "Can't you see that you almost broke my hand and didn't even apologize?, watch where your going, you don't own the word."

He paused, turning slowly to face her, a look of surprise on his face.

 "I didn't mean to,"

he said, his voice low and steady, but there was a glint in his eyes that suggested he was affected by her outburst.

Nyssa gave him a death stare and walked out to the children's ward.

When she arrived, she found her sister lying on the bed, pale, with Gigi sitting beside her, worried.

Nyssa ran and hugged her sister, tears streaming down her cheeks.

"Please, just be okay,"

she said quietly, feeling a rush of fear and desperation wash over her.

Gigi reached out, placing a comforting hand on Nyssa's shoulder, silently offering support as they both dealt with the uncertainty of her sister's condition.

The doctor entered, interrupting the moment. He summoned Nyssa to his office and handed her a document containing Lily's records.

" We will need to start a special treatment for her within three months. Your sister's condition has gotten really worse; if the treatment is delayed, we risk losing her." the doctor says,

A wave of fear washed over Nyssa, causing goosebumps to appear on her body. The gravity of the situation weighed heavily on her chest, as she struggled to accept the news. Determined to fight for her sister, she took a deep breath and nodded, bracing herself for the upcoming challenges.

The doctor handed her a small document that contained the payments she needed to make before proceeding with her sister's treatment.

Nyssa looked at the paper with trembling hands. The amount of money was too much for her; she made a quick mental calculation of her savings and realized she would need to seek help.

With her heart racing, she resolved to reach out to friends and family, knowing that every little bit could make a difference in her sister's treatment. but still couldn't meet up to the staggering total required.

Determined not to give up.

When Nyssa returned to work the next day, she learned that her new boss would be starting today.

Every employee was so busy preparing their presentations that she dashed to her desk and began going through some documents and typing on a computer, attempting to get her things together for the upcoming meeting.

As she organized her notes, she couldn't help but feel anxious and excited about what this new leadership might bring to the office dynamics. Will the new boss be as approachable as the previous one, or will they take a more rigid approach to management?

Nyssa was about to head to the cafeteria when she learned the new boss had arrived.

All of the staff rushed to the main entrance to greet him; they all stood still, hands behind their backs. Tons of black cars passed, and then a flashy black limousine came to a stop; the driver quickly stepped out and opened the back door. A tall, handsome man with a sharp jawline, cold hazel eyes, neatly styled black hair, and a black tailored suit stepped out of the car; Nyssa recognized him and noticed his cold gaze on the nervous employees.

Nyssa's POV

He seems familiar. Oh my God, isn't he the jerk who bumped me in the hospital? (She realizes). I'm finished.

The general manager arrived and greeted him with a small bow and a handshake before walking forward, taking a microphone, and saying,

"Good day, everyone. Please join me in applauding our new CEO of MESH TECHNOLOGY LIMITED, who is standing before you.

We hold hands as he walks forward to give us a speech."

As the new CEO walked forward, the entire staff began clapping their hands. He took the microphone and said,

"Good day, everyone." I'm Ethan Lockwood, the grandson of Chairman Collins Lockwood. It's good to see you all today. I've heard a lot about you all and the work you've done to lay this solid foundation, and I'm excited to do more things with you."

He turned to return the microphone to the general manager; his eyes met Nyssa's; he looked away, waved his hand, and walked inside.

*********

Ethan is a young billionaire who grew up alongside his grandfather, Chairman Collins. He lost his parents in a fire when he was six and has since lived with his wealthy grandfather.

He studied business and then went into technology after graduation. He stands tall and composed, with sharp hazel eyes and an unreadable expression that exudes quiet cold; with sleek dark hair and a face carved in calm precision, he appears untouchable. His cool gaze and emotionless expression make him appear distant but captivating.

Now my grandfather is getting old. He wants the family name to continue.

Meaning: Ethan must marry and have a family.

If he doesn't, **everything—**the company, the estate, the properties—will go to Landon, Ethan's cousin. Someone who has always been waiting to take his place.

Ethan doesn't care much about the money itself.

But the company is his father's legacy.

Losing it would feel like losing them again.

Ethan has gone on numerous blind dates but has yet to find anyone suitable; he promises his grandfather not to worry and assures him that he will marry, just to alleviate the old man's concerns.

Some employees were pleased to see the boss when they all went back to their desks, but others, like Nyssa, were anxious as she took her place at her desk.

Less than an hour later, Nyssa answers the phone on her desk and says,

"Hello, this is department 2 of MESH TECHNOLOGY. How can I help you, please?

"Miss Nyssa, please report to the CEO's office,"

said a manly voice before the call was cut off.

As Nyssa processed the sudden request, her heart pounded. A knot of anxiety tightened in her stomach as she stood up and walked toward the CEO's office, wondering what

was waiting for her behind the closed door, feeling the weight of her coworkers' inquisitive looks as she looked around the office.
