I was munching on fruit as I asked Brittany Scott, "Have you ever encountered a professional assassin in all your years as a detective?"
Brittany Scott shook her head, "No, mostly just dealing with lawbreakers."
I turned to Elizabeth Campbell, "You surely haven't seen one, right?"
I shrugged my shoulders, "And you're here keeping watch at night? Do you know the assassination tactics of a professional killer?"
"We have over a dozen undercover agents. If anyone approaches your hospital room, they'll report and take precautions immediately through the internal comms system."
I asked him, "You know the Three Gates will hire assassins to take me down and shake the authority, but do you know the list of assassins?"
Brittany Scott was stunned for a moment, "No, I don't."
