Chapter 24 - 24

Seeing Oddish use Growth and Ingrain, Mu Qingzhu decided to end the battle quickly. She commanded:

"Froakie, Quick Attack!"

"Growlithe, Flame Wheel!"

Oddish skillfully used the Ingrain skill, temporarily losing its ability to move, which gave Froakie and Growlithe an opportunity. Froakie's Quick Attack and Growlithe's Flame Wheel were launched almost simultaneously, with both attacks coming in like a relentless tide.

Although Oddish's Ingrain restored some of its stamina, the fierce attack of Flame Wheel still caused it severe damage, leaving burn marks on its body.

Oddish yearned to regain its stamina through Giga Drain, but, blinded by the swirling smoke on the field, it couldn't accurately identify the direction. Despite blindly using Giga Drain in one direction, it unfortunately missed its target.

Mu Qingzhu, with her Aura Power, perceived the rapidly changing situation on the field. She reacted swiftly, guiding Growlithe and Froakie with Aura to launch a fierce offensive. Water Pulse and Flame Wheel skills intertwined into a spectacular battle scene, continuously hitting Oddish. Despite Oddish's tenacious resistance, after two rounds of intense fighting, it still couldn't withstand the powerful onslaught and eventually collapsed on the field, losing its ability to continue fighting.

With the battle won, Mu Qingzhu used Tokiwa Power to help Froakie and Growlithe recover. Afterward, she selected a low-grade energy cube from her system backpack and gently offered it to Oddish. Oddish gratefully accepted it and, after tasting it, regained some stamina before leisurely departing.

After a short rest, Mu Qingzhu refreshed her spirits and continued onward with her five adorable Pokémon.

...

Mu Qingzhu was leisurely resting in the central part of Viridian Forest. Her pace had slowed, but each step was filled with determination and patience. To fully train her Growlithe and Froakie, she had spent hours, walking from the outer areas to the center, which, according to the time within the Secret Realm, had taken approximately six or seven hours. Initially, she encountered common Pokémon like Oddish, Bellsprout, and Rattata, but as she delved deeper, she began to encounter rarer ones such as Bulbasaur, Gloom, and Weepinbell. Despite the numerous difficulties, Mu Qingzhu's gaze remained firm; she knew that only through such trials could her partners truly grow.

Deep in her exploration, she unexpectedly encountered a Level 23 Bulbasaur with an exceptionally rich skill set. The battle with it was thrilling and nearly put them in a predicament. At a critical moment, Growlithe, inspired by Flame Wheel, comprehended the powerful Flame Charge. Ultimately, with the combined power of this skill and Flame Wheel, they successfully defeated Bulbasaur. After this intense battle, both Froakie and Growlithe's levels rose to 20.

During a brief moment of rest, Mu Qingzhu casually browsed the Flash Sale Mall. The Flash Sale Mall refreshed with Grass Knot, U-turn, Agility x 2, and a Power Gem TM. She applied these TMs to Froakie, Growlithe, and Zorua. Afterward, Mu Qingzhu meticulously checked Growlithe's and Froakie's attribute panels to ensure everything was under her control.

After a sufficient rest, Mu Qingzhu devised a new training plan. She decided that Froakie's and Growlithe's subsequent battles would be one-on-one duels to help them both break through the Level 20 bottleneck. She had high hopes for Growlithe, expecting him to comprehend the essence of Extreme Speed through his agile Agility in future duels, achieving a qualitative leap in himself. At the same time, she also anticipated Froakie continuously breaking through itself in battle, eventually evolving into a more powerful Frogadier.

...

Perhaps because Mu Qingzhu possessed Tokiwa Power, she encountered Pokémon every few steps. Subsequently, Mu Qingzhu arranged for Froakie and Growlithe to battle sequentially.

The two Pokémon adjusted from a two-on-one to a one-on-one battle mode. Initially, they seemed quite unaccustomed, suffering consecutive losses in the first few battles. However, Mu Qingzhu did not blame them for this; instead, she offered them encouragement and support after each battle. With continuous effort and attempts, the two Pokémon gradually adapted to this battle mode, and their performance significantly improved. They first managed to achieve victories, then were able to win with 30% HP remaining, and finally, even defeat opponents with 75% HP remaining. Of course, when facing opponents 6 to 7 levels higher, the battle outcomes remained uncertain. They had a 30% chance of losing, a 15% chance of a draw, a 10% chance of a complete victory, another 15% chance of winning, and finally, a 30% chance of experiencing a thrilling, narrow victory.

As I stepped into the outer reaches of Viridian Forest's depths, I unexpectedly encountered that "old friend"—the easy-difficulty BOSS, Scyther.

Mu Qingzhu saw that her "old friend's" strength had significantly improved, and a feeling of joy welled up in her heart. After all, in previous easy-difficulty challenges, this BOSS had almost become her daily practice target, easily defeated by her every day. Now, seeing its Growth, Mu Qingzhu was also happy for it.

Mu Qingzhu pondered for a moment and decided to let Froakie battle Scyther. She gently removed the Everstone from Froakie.

Froakie was on the verge of evolution on the way here. Mu Qingzhu firmly believed that this battle would be the catalyst for Froakie's evolution. If Froakie failed to evolve in this battle, she would not hesitate to seek a battle with Teacher Wang Han. If it didn't succeed once, she would try again, until Froakie underwent its evolution.
