Chapter 3 - CHAPTER 3

She knew she couldn't continue like this, she couldn't leave even if she wanted to, he'll find her and bring her back.

She walked towards the mirror, each step she took was heavy. She stared at her reflection, the once beautiful woman filled with youth and vigor was now gone replaced with what seemed to be a downcast fellow.

She could remember when men would pay millions or give all they had to meet her. Her mum once said she was very pretty but she never took it to heart.

Till she clocked 18, that was when she was sold. She felt broken, her father sold her for a business deal. They were betrothed, his family being the top richest family in the country had a deal with her father involving her.

All she could think of was death. He was right, she'd never escape from his grasp but she couldn't. She had to find a way.

She untied her dress and let it slip and walked into the bathroom, climbing into the bathtub. She plunged herself in. This was the only way, quietly she sank into the water. She wouldn't fight anymore. She felt tired, her soul was tired. She had to stop caring, all she asked was for him to acknowledge and love her but she asked too much. She knew her place. She was just a tool in the business world.

Her feelings never mattered from the beginning, she knew from the beginning when she was forced by her cruel father to marry him. He was cold hearted and ruthless. He never for once cared for her but even so it seemed her heart was glued to him and no one else. She was quite unsure of her feelings but the only thing she knew was that she loved him but he never reciprocated her feelings.

She couldn't fall deeper but she couldn't help herself. She had such a fragile and pure heart. Everytime she looked at him, she felt trapped but she was treated as someone insignificant.

She gave in, she wouldn't last long. she was fading. Her vision blurred.

It was for the best, she had completely given up. In her next life. She'd never make this same mistake. She would fight for her freedom. But, in a world where women was treated as insignificant, where men were far more powerful. Would she be able?

She uttered her last prayer, smiling she shut her eyes as darkness engulfed her.
