Chapter 1 - [1]: The Boy and the Cannibal Island

Sea Circle Calendar, Year 1490.

In the first half of the Grand Line lay a peculiar island known as Baron Stomach Boin Island.

At the edge of the island, a boy with long golden hair lay cross legged on a gigantic leaf, completely naked except for a grass skirt tied around his waist.

Behind him, a carnivorous plant spread its layered leaves wide, like two enormous hands supporting his body.

Under the blazing sunlight, large drops of sweat rolled down the plant's flower like a face.

It lifted its head toward the sun, then carefully grabbed the boy and began walking toward the depths of the island.

After entering the forest, the carnivorous plant stretched out its long tongue and gently slapped the boy's cheek, waking him from his sleep.

The boy slowly opened his eyes. His face felt wet. Without thinking, he clenched his fist and punched the plant square on its oversized head.

He grabbed a large chunk of meat from a nearby plant, chewing angrily as he spoke.

"You bastard, Pea. How many times have I told you not to wake me up with your tongue?"

"My face is full of your saliva now."

"Pea" finished the meat in its mouth and used its leaves like hands to rub the swollen lump on its head.

It stepped forward angrily, its layered leaves overlapping and rising higher.

The boy frowned slightly, staring at the Pea Shooter–looking plant as if he had realized something. He then made an awkward face and pouted.

"Next time… next time, you can at least put me down first."

After saying that, he turned away and continued enjoying the food growing all around him.

This carnivorous plant was something he had spent three years subduing with pure force.

Because it resembled the Pea Shooter from the game Plants vs. Zombies, he simply named it Pea.

Hearing his words only made Pea even angrier.

It pointed its leaves at the spot where he had punched it last time and shoved its leafy face right up to the boy's face.

The boy pushed it away. The voice was clearly coming from inside that massive flower.

"I knocked you down first last time. And you still dared hit me again!"

It was hard to imagine a plant showing emotions so similar to a human.

But this was the world of the Pirate King, after all. So it made perfect sense.

Yes, this was Roy's third year in the world of One Piece.

He had gone to sea with his parents when he was eight. When pirates attacked, his father stuffed him into a barrel and threw him into the ocean.

When Roy woke up, he found himself drifting onto this unfamiliar island.

At first, he could not understand why he did not open his eyes in his familiar rented room, but instead saw an endless ocean.

Then a searing pain exploded in his head, and two sets of memories fused together.

Only then did Roy realize he had transmigrated.

He was not afraid at all. In fact, he was happy.

He had always been an orphan and just an ordinary person, so where he lived made no difference.

Roy brushed the sand off himself and immediately started exploring the island.

He soon discovered plants that produced edible meat, truck sized ants, and carnivorous vegetation that ran around on two legs.

He even saw the island itself move as if digesting its prey.

Survival here came with real danger.

Eventually, Roy realized where he had landed.

He was on Boin Archipelago. The same island where Usopp trained for two years.

Several years later.

Roy stood watching a News Coo hovering in the air.

He quickly grabbed some food and traded it for a newspaper.

Three years ago, when he first saw a News Coo pull a newspaper from its bag with one wing while balancing in mid air with the other, he had already started getting used to the absurdity of this world.

Every time a News Coo passed by now, he would exchange food for a paper. For someone who had crossed worlds, information about the timeline was the strongest cheat of all.

He held a cup of fruit juice and unfolded the paper.

Whitebeard and Shiki the Golden Lion had each formed their own pirate crews and were now fighting for territory.

Charlotte Linlin and Kaido had parted ways and gone down separate paths.

When she was young, Charlotte Linlin was actually beautiful.

Roy could not help feeling that Oda had some strange fetish. Women in this world were stunning when young, but turned into wrinkled monsters when old.

Still, that had nothing to do with his current situation.

After all, he was only eleven years old.

Then one headline caught his eye.

"The Roger Pirates have destroyed the Kingdom of Soros."

The future Pirate King.

In the photograph, he saw the captain's hat, his curled mustache, his ridiculous grin, and the extraordinary crew standing behind him.

"As expected of one of the strongest pirate crews on the sea."

Roy couldn't help exclaiming.

Then he noticed something else.

In the corner of the photo were two kids.

One had red hair.

The other had a red nose.

Shanks and Buggy.

They looked around six or seven years old.

Judging by the timeline…

Douglas Bullet probably had not joined the crew yet.

If I get the chance, I should go find him early.

With his talent, if he hadn't been captured by the Marines, he would definitely have become an Emperor level existence.

Roy folded up the newspaper and started training.

He carried a massive boulder and ran around the island.

He did push ups and sit ups.

After finishing his physical training, he practiced chopping wood with a wooden staff.

In the world of One Piece, besides Devil Fruits, physical combat and swordsmanship were still the main paths of power.

At first, Roy had tried summoning some sort of system, but nothing happened.

He had no cheat.

But because of his rebirth, his soul was unusually strong.

After three years of survival training, he found that he could now read the thoughts of other living beings.

Along with the rich, high energy food on Boin Island, his body grew stronger and stronger, and his mental power increased steadily.

At eleven years old, he already stood about 1.8 meters tall.

When he fully matured, he might even reach the height of a Marine Admiral.

Not bad.

He had a powerful physique, strong spiritual power, and like Patrick Redfield, he had awakened Observation Haki at an early age.

And its range was terrifying.

Roy stroked his chin.

"But this basic training isn't boosting my strength anymore."

"I need a better training method."

"I should go out to sea."

The next day, he slept by the shore as usual, feeling the massive leaves under him swaying.

Just as he was about to punch Pea again, he saw Pea stretch out its long leaf and point toward the ocean.

Roy turned his head.

A few hundred meters away, a merchant ship was sailing across the sea.

His eyes lit up.

He excitedly patted the carnivorous plant beside him and laughed.

"Good job, Pea."

"Wait for me. I'll come back for you later."

Without waiting for its response, he jumped straight into the ocean and began swimming toward the ship.

With his current physique and years of training, catching up to a steadily sailing merchant ship was easy.

As he drew closer, a sailor leaning against the railing noticed something moving in the water.

He squinted.

"What the… is that real?"

He quickly patted his companion's shoulder.

"Dolom. There's someone swimming toward us out there."

Dolom brushed his hand away casually.

"Stop messing around, Sim."

"Who would be crazy enough to swim in the middle of the sea?"

"I'm serious. Look. He's getting closer. He's fast."

Before his companion could even reply, Sim had already turned and rushed off to report it to the captain.
