Chapter 49 - Chapter 49: The Wish in Progress

Porunga's red eyes flared like twin supernovas.

The entire planet held its breath.

Even the wind stopped.

A wave of divine power, deeper and older than stars, rolled out from the dragon and slammed into Vegeta like a silent tsunami.

This time there was no golden-green glow.

Just pure, invisible force.

Vegeta's eyes snapped wide.

Every cell in his body lit up at once.

Not pain.

Not pleasure.

Recognition.

His Saiyan bloodline, every descendant yet unborn, every child he would ever have with Bulma, every grandchild, great-grandchild, down to the end of time

All of them just became untouchable by age, by plague, by entropy itself.

Time lost its grip.

Death by natural causes became a fairy tale.

Porunga's voice thundered, solemn and final.

"It is done."

The dragon paused, studying Vegeta with something that might have been respect.

"Immortality in battle you already claimed.

Immortality against time and sickness, you now gift to your entire bloodline.

A wish worthy of a king."

Vegeta exhaled slowly.

The weight of thirty years of rage, of watching everyone he secretly cared about grow old while he stayed frozen in a child's body, of knowing even gods died of old age

Gone.

He looked down at his hands.

Still the same.

But now eternal.

Truly eternal.

A small, genuine smile tugged at his mouth.

Not the smirk of a conqueror.

The smile of a man who had just won something bigger than any empire.

Porunga lowered his massive head until one red eye was level with Vegeta's face.

"The Dragon Balls turn to stone for 130 days.

When they awaken again… call me.

I find myself… curious what a Super Saiyan with eternity will do next."

Vegeta met the dragon's gaze.

"You'll see."

Porunga laughed once, deep and rumbling, then dissolved into seven beams of light that shot across Namek's sky.

The balls scattered.

The darkness lifted.

Daylight returned.

Vegeta stood alone on the empty island.

Immortal.

Regenerating.

Space-proof.

Taller.

And for the first time since he had opened his eyes in a dying prince's body…

Completely, utterly at peace.

He looked toward Earth.

Toward a certain blue-haired woman who had no idea what was coming.

Toward a future that now belonged entirely to him.

And whispered, soft enough that only the wind heard:

"See you soon, Bulma."

Golden fire ignited around him.

He shot into the sky.

The age of Vegeta wasn't just beginning.

It was never going to end.
