His body begins to shiver. "Come on… come on! Wake the fuck up! Aren't you… the strongest?! Wake up! Please!" Silence. The sound of cars on the street blare. "You idiot! You… fuck…" He starts to grow limp after realizing the severity of the situation. "You aren't dead. Just… passed out!" A chuckle breaks free. "Yeah. Yeah, that's right! I'm just so strong I scared you straight! Yeah… yeah!" He puts hand on Renji's chest, searching for a pulse. "Maybe your heart's on the right side… or, no, um… your left… maybe… yeah! Sleeping… slows your heart rate… right..?" His mind starts to spiral. "Are you… actually… dead?"
Daiki walks out of the alleyway with tears dropping occasionally. How weak can I possibly be? He drags himself out the alleyway. I vowed I wouldn't kill and here I am, with bloodstains all over me. The sun begins to stow away. I can't be this fucking pathetic. Acting all tough and can't even keep my own vow? The light turns green. I took Renji's life. A life that he could've lived. A life where he could've changed for the better. Bi-Borp. Bi-Borp. I could've held back. I had so many opportunities to just… stop. His shoulder hits a man. Do I really not have any self control? I let my guard down, I try to have fun for one second and… "Hey, watch where you're walking!" Fun? Fun?! Beating his shit senseless was fun to you?! "Shove a dick in it and keep walking." Is this all it is to you? A fucking game? Lives are something you can never get back! He scurried. Death isn't a game. There's nothing about it that is. The crunch of grass. But that feeling… that feeling I felt in that fight. I haven't felt that in what feels like years. The tall grass staggers. It felt like at any moment I stopped taking him seriously, my brains would get blown off. For once… I didn't know who would win. A familiar cabin stood tall. That feeling, that fire, is so… so addicting. The cabin towers over him. It's almost like… I liked killing him. No, it wasn't that. What made me feel good… The door creaks open. …Was that I won.
"Hey dork! How was your spring break?" Nora says, waving with a box of orange juice in her hand. Amane is laying on the couch as Rei perks up to see Daiki standing there. "Long time no see, right?" Daiki's expression tries to form one of disgust, but it springs back into the same cold, emotionless one he's been holding for a while. "I'm a woman of my word, y'know." Nora says with a cheerful smile. "I told ya I'd be back." Daiki thinks back to the moment when they were about to leave, he remembers Nora hinting at their return. "I didn't really need you guys back." Rei straightens up slightly. "Anyway, let's cut to the chase. I saw your little kerfuffle back there." Daiki shoots daggers at him with his expression, nudging him to not speak about it further. Despite that, Rei presses. "The others didn't see it. I personally say…" Daiki follows Rei's hand rise as he gives him a thumbs up. "That was pretty good shit. I expected you guys to fight like headless bugs, but you showed me some good shit. I was really entertained." Daiki doesn't falter in the slightest. "Entertaining? Bloodshed keeps boredom out of your mind? You're just a pretty boy who's rotten to the very bottom." Rei counteracts. "Oh? You think bloodshed is something to fear?" Rei relaxes on the squeaking stool, its legs would give out at any moment. "All people die. What's the harm in delivering an inevitable fate just a little early?" Daiki soulless eyes have not seen any change at all. "The harm is that you're just a devil for doing so. You act like he wouldn't be grovelling at your knees begging for forgiveness in the face of death." Rei smirks and breathes in loudly. "I-" SNAP. Rei falls to the ground. Nora bursts out laughing. "Oh boy, couldn't sit anywhere else but the chair that had the lifespan of three more days, huh?" Rei, slightly flustered, stands up. "Let's just cut the bullshit. You now are responsible for taking a human life. You can't run or hide from that ever. It will always be here to bite your ass." Daiki's glare is sharp. "Stop staring at me like that. You're just as bad as us now, and the fact that we're been in the game longer doesn't say shit. Once a murderer, always a murderer." Daiki is now comparable to an unloaded gun, yet he still pushes. "No. I'm not a mindless killer that-" "Yes you are. Stop resisting it. You're a mindless killer like the rest of us. You already felt that drug, didn't you?" Daiki looks away, knowing exactly what he's talking about. Nora decides to join in as well. "It's a pretty addictive one too. When you beat his ass, I bet it felt like your brain was juicing." Daiki wants to deny it, but he can't add any input. A voice comes from the direction of the couch. "There is no point of denying it once this is the situation you're in. You have no win condition, Daiki." Daiki grits his teeth hard. Rei looks down at him with slight pity but a little more emotion hidden deep within. "We forgive you about last time. And we'll spoil you even more." He walks past Daiki to close the door behind him as Nora tries to hide a smirk. She mutters under her breath, "What a show off." Rei stands as Daiki absorbs his words. "We'll welcome you to our group with open arms. Someone like you can go a long way." Daiki stands there. Nothing seems real at this point. Is he really a murderer? Just over what happened today? "I'm a murderer. There's no denying it." Daiki turns to face Rei directly. Something flickers in his eyes, and then into his soul. "So I'll embrace it. I'll become even stronger to get that thrill." Rei lets out a slightly sadistic grin, Nora chuckles and Amane relaxes. "Welcome to the real world, Daiki." Daiki's soul starts to burn brighter. I'll become the strongest, no matter what.
