Chapter 4 - CHAPTER 4 : Hunger

As Elias slowly moved forward, he could feel himself, he could feel his body getting heavier as if someone has chained him and was increasing the weights. Not only was he growing thirsty and hungry as if he had not had a drop of water in days.

the whispers also started to increase, still subtle though. He paid them no mind as he already was almost dying.

"Oh God, I can't move."

Elias collapsed on his knees, laying low on the floor and closing his eyes. His breathing slowed and became steady.

"Should I just stay like this for some time? I can't move like this for long and this hallway seems to never end", Elias thought.

"No… No, I can't stay here. Staying here will simply drain my energy more and more. If I stay here, I might just get stuck."

Thinking this, Elias decided to stand up and slowly started to move again.

With each step he moved forward, it felt as if he was aging faster. His hunger and thirst never stopped increasing and the whispers started to become incomprehensible shouts.

But alas,

He moved forward in pain and suffering for there was no choice.

Elias fell forward after just 10 minutes of walking, now looking like an aged man. His face was full of wrinkles, his hair white and thin, his arms and legs as if only bones.

"AHHHHHHHH!"Elias screamed, scratching his face like a madman till his cheeks were nothing but bloody shreds and only blood covered his face, hoping the pain would subside his hunger.

Reaching his breaking point, Elias started to laugh, completely going berserk. He started chewing his own hand, tearing a huge chunk of his flesh to eat, drinking his own blood, laughing and laughing.

Finally, he closed his eyes.

When his eyes had opened, Elias looked at the nothingness, terrified.

"No… no… NO! NEVER! NEVER! NEVER! MY MIND, I DON'T WANT TO BE HERE!"

Elias screamed with his non-existent mouth. He was in the same state as he was in the beginning, he was whole now, but at this moment Elias only had terror in him, incomprehensible amounts of terror as he continued to scream,

"Let me out!"Elias screamed, waking up in his body again in that hallway made of blackstone.

Pant… pant… pant…

Elias breathed, his eyes were bloody, blood still flowed from the place he tore his flesh from.

Calming down," the hunger… I don't feel it anymore, nor the thirst or the whispers. Whatever that was, I cannot stop. I don't know what can happen to me, even being burned alive is better than that terror in that… whatever that was ".

Elias clutched his head, breathing heavily. Slowly he started to move forward, standing up. Each step was heavy.

He continued to walk. He didn't know how much time had passed, how many days or hours he was walking, or maybe even years It has been.

He felt so tired as , as he continued slowly but steadily, sometimes he would limp sometimes having no strength at all he would crawl .

Why...one might ask...

because if he didn't he knew...that in this place only suffering awaited him.

Alas before he realized, he was standing, surrounded by crystals shining with ethereal lights and colors, some he could see, many he could not.

As he limped forward towards one of the crystals....

His surroundings changed ; as if he was teleported without him realizing it , Elias blinked as he looked around

He was floating above what he understood as some kind of bizzare crystal structure, that did not seem to follow the laws of physics . as from the various crystals twisted and angled at places where they should not be able to maintain their overall structure, he At least that's what he understood from the structure's entire makeup.

It… was beautiful.

Although the emotions of awe he felt were hollow, they were the strongest he had in quite a lot of time.

Above him were unknown stars, nebulae, and galaxies, moving as if they were all in front of him...it was hard to describe.

Whenever his gaze or thought drifted to some star or a celestial object, the object, some knowledge about it would come to him.

Elias felt small , his body was shaking his heart felt as if it could burst .

He felt nauseous..he could not even bring himself to gaze at it.This place was ethereal. Gone was the hunger, the thirst, the fear and paranoia.

After various deep breaths, Elias calmed himself as he... Slowly gazed around

He still kept his gaze low though.

At the same time, he noticed his body healed, as good as new, and he looked the same as when he first walked the blackstone hallway.

He was surrounded by ethereal crystal towers that seemed to reach the tapestry of the cosmos, carved and shaped in non-Euclidean shapes that made his eyes bleed just looking at them.

Elias diverted his gaze and covered his eyes,

His mind was overwhelmed with the complexity of the place he found himself in.

He Slowly opened his eyes and looking at a bizarre collection of organic matter that appeared like a cross between a disfigured human, octopus and reptilian-like creature.

It turned its 13 eyes towards Elias.

Blood started to come out of his orifices as he screamed, clutching his head. The creature came closer to Elias as he fainted, floating around.
