Chapter 70 - Chapter 70: The Gaia Memory Transaction

"Now, quickly dispose of this uncontrolled defective product, complete the mission, and return." Evolto tapped his cane on the ground.

A hurricane rose out of thin air, blowing all the SHIELD agents controlled by the Dopant into the air. Then, the white cat using the Smilodon instantly vanished.

Frank could only catch a glimpse of a white shadow quickly passing by, approaching the rampaging Dopant.

Then, the Dopant was instantly subjected to countless high-speed attacks, emitting a continuous tearing sound like dense rain, with claw marks appearing all over its body.

Finally, with a loud bang, the Dopant was severely injured and fell to the ground.

The white leopard then reappeared, condensing energy balls in its paws and blasting them towards the Dopant.

With a crisp sound, the Puppeteer Memory ejected and shattered.

The SHIELD agent who had transformed into the rampaging Dopant reverted to human form.

"Well done, Snowy." Dan, who had finished his conversation with Pierce, appeared out of thin air.

The white cat, transformed into the Smilodon, instantly returned to Dan's side.

Evolto also retracted his cane, and the suspended SHIELD agents and Frank fell to the ground like dumplings.

Frank stood up, looked at Dan, and spoke gravely, "What is the meaning of this?"

He raised the Engine Blade towards Dan Doh.

Dan looked at the SHIELD agents pointing their guns at him and waved his hand casually: "Just recovering a valueless product, and stopping by to say hello to you."

"Also, although these people's guns pose no threat to us, this overestimation of their own strength still makes me a little annoyed."

"Eternal."

The SHIELD agents immediately felt a mountain-like pressure weighing down on them. All the strength in their bodies was instantly drained, making them unable to stand, and they fell over en masse.

Frank also felt the substantial pressure of Eternal. Supporting his body with the Engine Blade, his expression was incredibly solemn.

"Accel, I think highly of you. Try your best to increase your power! Become as strong as possible!"

"If this situation occurs again in the future, I'll have to hand everything over to you." Dan said with a faint smile.

Then, he left, taking Evolto and the Smilodon with him.

Frank snorted and testily connected his comms to Nick.

Nick had repeatedly assured him that there would be no problems before handing the Gaia Memories over to SHIELD for research.

Yet, a Dopant rampage still occurred.

Fisk Tower.

"Since the flow of Gaia Memories has expanded, quite a few people have been keeping an eye on those selling the Gaia Memories recently."

"Underworld forces, the police, the military, and many personnel whose origins we can't trace, likely from certain special departments or secret organizations."

"They are all watching the Memory vendors, trying to track down clues," Bullseye said, leaning against the wall.

"This was expected. With the power of the Gaia Memories, it is only natural that they attract attention and covetousness from various sides."

"However, it doesn't matter too much. These vendors are only responsible for selling the Gaia Memories and have limited information.

"Moreover, we have David's 'Eyes.' There won't be any accidents, right?" Kingpin stood up and addressed the well-dressed middle-aged man with gold-rimmed glasses standing next to him.

David Levin, the Chief Legal Officer of Fisk Industries, and Kingpin's right-hand man.

If Bullseye represented the "martial" right hand of Kingpin, David represented the "civil" left hand.

"Eye."

David, who had been smiling kindly nearby, took out a Gaia Memory and transformed into a Dopant.

"All the vendors are under the control of my Eyes. If they attempt to reveal any information about the organization, they will instantly lose their lives."

"There is absolutely no need to worry about information regarding us being leaked."

"Excellent." Kingpin nodded in satisfaction.

"However, the loss of vendors has been quite significant, which is a bit troublesome and will affect the progress of our plan," David said, pushing up his glasses after canceling his transformation.

Bullseye, however, curled his lip. He hadn't had a chance to go on a rampage since gaining the power of the Gaia Memory—it was boring.

Kingpin frowned slightly, took a briefcase from beside his desk, and opened it: "The loss of vendors is indeed a problem. I will try my best to ensure personnel replenishment."

"However, our primary task right now is to find a suitable candidate for this Gaia Memory."

Bullseye couldn't help but interject, "This is a Gold Gaia Memory. Are we really going to hand it over to someone else?"

David also showed a slight look of eagerness as he gazed at the Memory inside the briefcase.

As Kingpin's two right-hand men, they both clearly understood the power that Kingpin possessed with the Gold Terror Memory.

And this Gold Memory from the Foundation, even if it wasn't as powerful as the Terror Memory held by Kingpin, was definitely extremely formidable.

Kingpin narrowed his eyes slightly, then shook his head and said: "This is the most appropriate choice. We can't find anyone internally who can adapt to this Memory."

"Keeping it in our hands is useless."

"I believe you both know the consequences of forcing its use."

Their expressions became serious as they recalled the fate of the person used for the experiment, and they couldn't help but feel a slight chill.

"The most critical point is that only by finding the qualified user for this Gold Memory will the Foundation give us a new Gold Memory, and the new Memory might have an internal candidate who can use it."

"If we keep this Memory in our hands, I'm afraid the Foundation will be displeased," Kingpin said, closing the briefcase.

The key reason Kingpin chose to do this was his confidence in his own strength—he was confident that he could suppress everything.

The deeper he used the Terror Memory, the more he felt the infinite power hidden within it, the power derived from fear.

Excluding the incomprehensible and unfathomable Eternal, Kingpin believed that he would eventually be able to surpass even the one known as Utopia.

"Then how should we deal with this Gaia Memory?" Bullseye asked.

A sharp gleam flashed in Kingpin's eyes: "In any case, according to the Foundation, the Gaia Memory will automatically resonate with users who have a high enough compatibility, especially high-level Gaia Memories."

"In other words, it will automatically seek its master. We don't need to force the selection of a user."

"Since that's the case, we might as well put it to good use."

"What's your plan?" Bullseye looked interested.

"Use this Gaia Memory as bait to lure out the factions monitoring the circulation of Gaia Memories."

"Let them fight among themselves, reveal their true intentions, and muddy the waters."

"This will reduce the attention focused on us, and the circulation of our Gaia Memories can proceed more smoothly."

"The unlimited loss of vendors is indeed a huge hassle," Kingpin said, stroking the briefcase, a hint of regret in his eyes.

If he hadn't truly been unable to find a suitable candidate to use it, he would never have handed over this Gold Gaia Memory.

"David, arrange for the vendors to subtly leak some information about a significant Gaia Memory transaction," Kingpin instructed David.

"Understood."

SHIELD's Secret Base.

"Captain, another one died," a Hydra agent reported to Brock Rumlow (Crossbones).

Rumlow frowned slightly.

Was it some special drug? Or a unique superpower?

The captured Gaia Memory vendors, when interrogated, would suddenly die every time they were about to reveal something.

They hadn't obtained any effective information yet, which made it difficult to report to Secretary Pierce.

"Did you check?"

"Absolutely no abnormalities, just like sudden death."

"How many are left?" Rumlow asked, his face darkening slightly.

"Only one remains," the subordinate replied.

"I will interrogate him personally."

Finally, just before the last vendor died, Rumlow obtained information about a suspected major Gaia Memory transaction.

He immediately reported to Pierce, who instructed the deployment of elite units to wait for an opportunity.

After a brief hesitation, Pierce decided not to personally intervene.

Although he possessed unprecedented power, according to Eternal, the power of the 'Emperor of Fear' who sold the Gaia Memories definitely surpassed his own.

There was absolutely no need to risk a head-on confrontation with him. Wouldn't it be better to find his true identity and use all means possible to eliminate him with Hydra's formidable power?

However, Pierce did not realize that they were far from the only ones who received the information.
