Chapter 1 - WADE KYLE

Wade Kyle strolled into his office, his hands buried in his pockets, exuding an aura of cold detachment and power. His sharp gaze scanned the room as he walked towards the expansive floor-to-ceiling windows that overlooked the bustling city below. The faint hum of the office buzzed around him, but he paid no attention. Wade was a man of few words, his actions commanding respect and fear. The world called him a beast, a merciless titan of industry who let no one slip through his grasp.

As he stared down at the security entrance, a figure caught his eye. A woman, her movements frail and hesitant, was in a heated exchange with one of his security officers. Her tattered clothes and disheveled hair made her stand out among the pristine surroundings of his building. Normally, Wade would leave such trivial matters to his staff, but something about her held his attention.

He pressed a button on his desk phone.

"Mike," he said curtly.

"Yes, sir," came the immediate response from the head of security.

"That woman at the entrance. Bring her up to my office."

There was a brief pause.

"Understood, sir."

*Medley's POV*

I was in a lot of pain after being beaten and chased by my boyfriend Louis. I was hopeless. I had caught him the night before in bed with Cassie, the only girl I've called my best friend, I was shocked and I felt broken. I had approached him and asked him why he did what he did and with my best friend but instead they both beat me up and tied me to a chair. They made me watch them have sex, he fucked her so hard like their lives depended on it, their moaning and panting filled the room and all I could do was cry. The next morning I was untied and kicked out of the house by Louis and Cassie, I was humiliated and ashamed and above all, I was weak from crying, my eyes were weak and heavy, I was hungry as well, I had cried so much and forgot to eat plus I was tied up.

I dragged myself slowly across the street looking for help but no one seemed to care, I sat by the corner of the street and held myself, I was crying with memories of Louis and I flowing through my mind, soon a few number of cars sped by, people began to talk, whispering from all corners of the street.

"Isn't that Wade Kyle?"

"Do you know that he is the richest and most ruthless man ever alive" someone else said

"And the most cutest, I hear a lot of fashion industries use him as a model to advertise their brand" Someone girl said

"His a multi business owner, the best business tycoon in the world, I hear he built his name for himself despite being an orphan"

"I adore him so much, imagine having a husband like him, everybody would bow to your feet"

The words came flying in and out across the street, I stared at the black Honda Jeeps that drove past, I knew who Wade Kyle was, I mean I do see him on the news, and I hear his ruthlessness. I stood to my feet and for some reason, I followed the cars. From what I've seen on the news I knew I would be able to locate his company, I pray that's where he's headed .

I stood at the gates of the towering skyscraper, my body trembling. The argument with the security officer wasn't going anywhere, and I felt my strength waning.

"I just need to see him!" I pleaded, my voice breaking.

"And why the hell would Mr. Kyle want to see you?" the officer scoffed. His burly arms were crossed over his chest, his expression stone cold.

"I...I don't know! Just let me in. Please!"

The officer shook his head, clearly unimpressed. "Look, lady, we get dozens of people like you every week. Begging for money, for favors. Wade Kyle doesn't..."

He stopped mid-sentence, pressing a finger to his earpiece. I watched his demeanor shift almost instantly, his posture straightening. He glanced at me, then nodded to the other guards.

"You're lucky today," he muttered, motioning for me to follow.

I was too stunned to respond. Lucky? After everything that had happened to me, this felt surreal. My thoughts raced as they escorted me into the building. The lavish interior was a stark contrast to my tattered state, and I felt the stares of employees and visitors boring into me as I shuffled past.

In Wade's Office

The doors to the office swung open, and I found myself face-to-face with the man who had been the subject of so many whispers. Wade Kyle stood by the window, his back turned to me. The tension in the room was palpable.

"Sir," the security officer announced. "As requested."

"Leave us," Wade said without turning.

The guards left without hesitation, and I was alone with him.

He finally turned to face me, his piercing gray eyes locking onto mine. The air seemed to grow heavier as he studied me, his expression unreadable.

"Speak," he commanded.

My throat felt dry. I didn't know where to begin, but the intensity of his gaze forced the words out of me. "I...I didn't know where else to go. I just… I need help."

His brow arched slightly, but he didn't interrupt.

"I was beaten. Thrown out of my home by my boyfriend, ex-boyfriend," I corrected myself, bitterness lacing my voice. "I caught him cheating with… with my best friend. They… they humiliated me." My voice broke, and I had to pause to steady myself. "I've been walking for hours. No food, no rest. And then I saw you… your cars. I thought, maybe…"

I trailed off, feeling utterly foolish. Why would a man like Wade Kyle care about my sob story?

He remained silent for a moment, his eyes narrowing as if trying to decide whether I was worth his time. Finally, he spoke.

"What's your name?"

"Medley," I whispered.

"Medley," he repeated, his voice devoid of emotion. "You don't look like someone who belongs here."

"I don't," I admitted, my cheeks burning. "But I have nowhere else to go."

He moved closer, his towering frame intimidating. "Do you know who I am?"

"Yes," I said, swallowing hard. "Wade Kyle. The richest man in the country. The Beast of Southville."

His lips curled into a faint smirk, though it didn't reach his eyes. "And you thought coming here was a good idea?"

"I had no choice," I said firmly, meeting his gaze despite my trembling knees.
