Chapter 73 - Bonus Chapter 71

Adamantium is created from extraterrestrial meteorite components mixed with a carbon alloy, making it indestructible and the hardest known metal on Earth.

Once smelted, it must be kept at a high temperature of 1500 degrees Fahrenheit — which, according to the text, is said to be 55,555 degrees Celsius.

At this temperature, Adamantium remains in liquid form and can be forged into any shape.

However, once it cools, under normal circumstances, it cannot be damaged or destroyed, nor can its shape be changed. It will not melt even at an extreme temperature of 500,000 degrees Celsius.

What does 500,000 degrees Celsius mean?

The temperature of Earth's core is roughly 4,982 degrees Celsius. The Sun's surface temperature is about 6,000 degrees Celsius. The Sun's core reaches about 20 million degrees Celsius.

In other words, Adamantium can only be melted again if it's thrown into the center of the Sun.

One-time forging, never deforming — it even saves on after-sales service!

As for "Wolverine 2," where Wolverine's claws were cut off by Silver Samurai's Adamantium sword, Fox needs to give an explanation for that!

In the comics, Silver Samurai not only wields an Adamantium katana, but also generates a form of superluminal particle energy.

By coating his blade with this energy, he can break atomic bonds and cut through incredibly dense materials.

But against Wolverine's claws, it's useless!

Wolverine could sit there and let him chop all day; when he woke up, his claws wouldn't even have a white scratch.

Rimuru's interest in Adamantium wasn't new — she just never had a way to get her hands on it.

Now that Nick Fury had delivered himself to her door, she would be betraying herself if she didn't fleece him thoroughly.

Of course, even if she got it, it would be mostly symbolic!

Given the Divine Wind's current development, there was very little room left for raw power upgrades.

Using advanced materials like Adamantium was just one potential approach.

But for Rimuru right now, it wasn't truly necessary.

With the skill [Multiple Barriers] and the spell [Shield of Seraphim], when it came to defense, even if Thanos himself showed up, she wouldn't panic.

If she weren't trying to keep a low profile, Rimuru could even abandon her mech entirely and play however she wanted!

But just because she didn't need it didn't mean her future mech girl wouldn't!

She couldn't let her precious little darling lose at the starting line, could she?

Vibranium and Adamantium were the two types of "formula milk" Rimuru had prepared for her future mech daughter.

Ensuring she would be both cute and powerful from birth.

Rimuru happily imagined her mech girl pounding on Thanos's chest with her tiny fists!

"No, a thousand catties is absolutely impossible!"

Nick Fury nearly spat blood, shaking his head rapidly.

One gram of Vibranium is worth ten thousand US dollars, and Black Panther was considered richer than Iron Man because he "literally owns a mine."

And Adamantium is a metal on the same level.

One catty is 500 grams. One gram is 10,000 dollars. So one bottle of Recovery Potion costing 1000 catties meant a price of five billion dollars.

Who on Earth could afford to drink that?

Was he drinking Recovery Potion, or was Recovery Potion drinking him?

Nick Fury's complexion darkened to the point it reflected light. He gritted his teeth and said, "Your asking price is outrageous. At most, I'll give you one catty for one bottle of Recovery Potion."

Nick Fury's calculations were ruthless: aim absurdly high, settle dirt cheap!

A medicine that could bring the dead back to life was never meant for the masses anyway.

He could resell the Recovery Potion to Council members and the wealthy — both domestic and foreign. Not only would he recover the cost, he would make a massive profit.

At five million per bottle, even ordinary rich people could buy it.

For true magnates, what was five million?

And as a life-saving miracle? They'd surely stock a few at home.

Who doesn't have a medicine cabinet?

In fact, Fury's real expectation was fifty million per bottle — ten catties for one bottle.

After running S.H.I.E.L.D. for over a decade, holding both financial and personnel power, and occasionally embezzling funds to build secret bases, Nick Fury believed he surpassed ninety-nine percent of the world in sensitivity to money.

And his opponent was this little brat Rimuru — surely she couldn't outmaneuver him!

"Deal!"

Rimuru agreed instantly.

Nick Fury froze. His confidence silently slipped out of his body. He nearly vomited three liters of blood.

He had slashed the price by a thousandfold, and Rimuru agreed without hesitation — what did that mean?

One bottle of Recovery Potion for one catty of Adamantium meant Rimuru had made not just a huge profit, but a ridiculous profit!

Who could endure this soul-crushing regret?!

Ahhh, I want to die!

Nick Fury's intestines twisted green with remorse. He had the urge to smash his bald head into the wall.

Anyone who has ever bargained knows this pain:

A vendor sets a sky-high price. You bargain hard, trembling that they might refuse your offer…Then they agree instantly.

And your sense of victory evaporates on the spot.

Worse — you feel like you suffered a huge loss!

And it doesn't end there.

For months, maybe years, every time you remember that bargain, you feel a wave of regret and grief.

Small-minded people might complain about it for a lifetime!

Rimuru could've negotiated slowly with Nick Fury for more benefits.

But Rimuru was absolutely not short on Recovery Potions!

She had cleaned out the entire Sealed Cave full of Hipot Grass.

She herself didn't even know how many tens of thousands of bottles she had.

More importantly, annoying Nick Fury was far more satisfying than earning a little extra money.

Seeing Fury's face drain of color, Rimuru's big eyes curved into two happy crescent moons. She was delighted.

Seeing her smug expression made Fury clench his teeth in rage.

Bratty kids were truly the most infuriating!

He was definitely more suited to playing with cats!

When he saw Rimuru casually lay out the Recovery Potions in a row, his face turned even greener.

Seeing how casually she treated them, Nick Fury immediately felt that the Recovery Potion was even less valuable.

My heart aches!

Dilute it. He must heavily dilute the Recovery Potion before reselling it!

After the transaction was finally completed, Nick Fury's head was spinning. He felt lightheaded and didn't even remember how he walked out of the villa.

Rimuru, of course, did not tell Nick Fury that Tony had already begun mass-producing Recovery Potions with a purity of about five percent.

While these ultra-nerfed versions couldn't bring back the dead or regrow limbs, they could at least ensure wounds healed without scarring.

In other words…

Nick Fury's little scheme was 99% doomed to fail.
