Chapter 48 - Chapter 46

I'm making money, making money!

I don't even know how to spend it.

I buy a Nokia with my left hand, a Motorola with my right hand.

I change my phone number every day, using China Mobile, China Unicom, and PHS.

I drive a Mercedes, then a BMW, enjoy saunas and eat lobsters for fun.

I'm making money, making money!

I've hired three nannies alone.

One for sweeping, one for cooking, and one to be a wet nurse.

Rimuru hummed a tune, her entire being radiating happiness, like she had chugged a large bottle of cola in one go—it was double the joy.

This trip to the West Coast truly made Rimuru rich!

She not only successfully extorted various high-tech materials from Tony, but even gathered all the materials for Fengshen III and Fengshen IV.

She also successfully sold the new energy reactor to Tony, earning a billion dollars.

If you add in the supercomputer installation fee, the 3D printer, and the particle collider, she made at least 1.2 billion in net profit from this trip.

Indeed, kidnapping Tony Stark is the best way to get rich!

After agreeing on the competition time with Tony Stark, Rimuru piloted Fengshen One back to New York.

Long Island Villa.

Looking at the retired Fengshen One, Rimuru felt quite emotional. She hadn't expected that in less than half a year, this cutting-edge mecha would become an 'old antique' of the previous generation.

The speed of this iteration is even faster than electronic products!

"In a couple of days, I'll build a 'wardrobe' in the Villa, specifically for displaying the Fengshen series of mechas!"

This time, when Rimuru visited Tony's West Coast Villa, she saw Tony's 'wardrobe,' and the impact she felt was unprecedented.

Although she didn't like Tony Stark's aesthetic, she had to admit that he did a splendid job this time!

How can a man's wardrobe not have a few pieces of women's clothing—cough, cough, I misspoke—how can a man's wardrobe not have a few sets of mechas?!

This is far more upscale and classy than a garage full of luxury cars, a wine cellar full of fine wines, or a walk-in closet full of designer bags!

Mecha manufacturing is not a simple job; even with Aiya's help, it couldn't be completed in a short time.

Rimuru also wanted to see Wind God II born as soon as possible, so she simply asked her homeroom teacher, Mrs. Jacqueline, for a half-month long vacation.

Rimuru was initially worried that the vacation would be too long and Mrs. Jacqueline wouldn't approve, especially since Rimuru had only been in school for a short time after transferring, and final exams were approaching.

To Rimuru's surprise, Mrs. Jacqueline approved it directly, without even asking the reason for her leave.

The excellent service attitude left Rimuru speechless.

If she overslept one day, would there also be a special 'wake-up' service?

Days passed, and Rimuru immersed herself in the laboratory, forgetting to eat and sleep, as Wind God II gradually transformed from blueprints into reality.

This made Rimuru exceptionally busy every day, yet she felt unusually fulfilled and content, even forgetting the passage of time.

What Rimuru didn't know was that while she was working diligently, the outside World was undergoing tumultuous changes.

First, Damon pulled various strings and finally managed to get Mindy into Forest Hill Elementary School.

No matter how much Mindy resisted school, Damon was determined this time. Mindy had no choice but to go to school with her backpack.

Watching Mindy sitting in the bright and clean classroom, Damon was smug. Days without the Witch were great!

He had impeccably completed the task Rimuru entrusted to him, and he didn't even plan to take a commission, just waiting for Rimuru to contact him again.

Damon wasn't entirely against working for the 'Witch,' but if the Witch wanted to get close to his daughter, there was no way.

Do not underestimate a father's determination!

Even though he seemed as small and weak as an ant in front of the Witch.

But even an ant, for his daughter, would dare to reach its antennae towards the Sun and give the Sun the middle finger.

How could a wealthy person like Rimuru, who is loaded, possibly fancy a poor and dilapidated school like Forest Hill Elementary School!

Damon, the daughter-obsessed father, felt this was a sure bet!

In stark contrast to Damon's feelings was Hawkeye.

The more Barton investigated, the angrier he became. The colleague who impersonated his name was simply too much.

As an archer, he used the bow's back for most of his battles.

And he even called it 'physical hypnosis,' which was simply a disgrace to the archer community!

What Hawkeye found even more unacceptable was that the impostor was simply too greedy. He claimed to punish evil and promote good, but in reality, he was harvesting wealth.

When Barton learned that the fake one had stolen a million from Kingpin and transferred six hundred million from Frank Amick, Barton immediately felt a surge of fury.

What a joke?

He was constantly on edge, getting up earlier than chickens and going to bed later than dogs, earning less than ten thousand dollars a month.

He had almost forgotten when his last raise was, and even this meager salary was often delayed.

Barton's sense of justice had completely exploded. For America, oh no, for World peace, he must humanely eliminate that impostor.

While Hawkeye was busily investigating the fake Hawkeye, his intelligence was also presented to Kingpin.

Snakes have their ways, and rats have theirs.

Compared to the high-and-mighty S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents, Kingpin's subordinates, although a motley crew or perhaps not presentable, made up for it in sheer numbers!

If Hawkeye, while gathering intelligence, casually exchanged a few punches with a guy covered in tattoos, performing street art, he might have just hit one of Kingpin's subordinates!

If he casually had a heart-to-heart chat with an openly dressed, hospitable young lady, he might have just hooked up with a streetwalker under Kingpin's protection.

Not to mention, Hawkeye was wearing a form-fitting leather suit, carrying a bow, and a quiver.

This was as conspicuous as lighting a torch in the dark!

Thus, a 'top-secret message' about one of Kingpin's big deals was overheard by Hawkeye.

Arlington, Virginia.

"General Ross, this might interest you. In Milwaukee, a citizen drank a bottle of guarana soda, and it was more potent than he imagined. We suspect gamma poisoning!"

A female clerk presented a document to General Ross, who was smoking a cigar.

"What?"

General Ross immediately stood up excitedly. This news was like an oasis in the desert to him.

In an instant, he became invigorated, as if he had shed ten years, full of energy.

"Where was the soda bottled?"

The female clerk: "Brazil, Porto Port."

Ross: "Send someone to the bottling plant to find a White man. Stay put for now; if he sees them, he'll run away!"

The female clerk: "Yes!"

After the clerk left, Ross's eyes became even sharper.

Initially, the pursuit of Hulk was merely a duty, born out of a soldier's sense of responsibility, honor, and mission.

But when his daughter repeatedly pleaded for Banner in front of him, the capture of Hulk became intertwined with personal resentment.

Putting himself in her shoes, as a father, can you imagine your little darling, whom you raised yourself, marrying a monster who might rage out of control at any moment?

Don't talk to him about true love; how can different species fall in love?

He didn't want the daughter of the Ross family to give birth to a green monster!

After repeated captures and failures, Ross's original intention had long vanished. He became obsessed with Hulk's overwhelming power!

Capturing Hulk was no longer just a duty or personal grudge; it was a stepping stone for his promotion, and it had become his lifelong obsession!
