After a while, the doctor brought in the fluid and set it on April's hand through her veins. She was already asleep and her fever had dropped slightly, her breathing also remained stable. So everyone relaxed a bit. The room gradually settled into a quiet position.
The IV fluid had already been set on April's hand, while she's fast asleep. Ruby sat by the edge of the bed, refusing to let go of April's hand as fear filled her mind. She now has two people to worry about, April and the baby growing in her belly.
The doctor straightened after adjusting the drip rate as he lowered his voice before speaking "She'll sleep for a while. The fever will continue to decrease, but she must not be disturbed. No loud noises, no visitors, no emotional triggers."
Ruby nodded immediately "I'll make sure of it"
