Chapter 108 - Chapter 108: Picking up scraps can also make a fortune

He wanted to dodge, but with his Chakra exhausted, how could he possibly evade? He could only watch as the deadly poison came for him.

Ling was still too kind; she couldn't bear to see the good person who had provided her with a large amount of chakra metal die, so she decided to let him become a captive and live on.

With a Body Flicker Technique, Ling appeared beside the Hidden Sand Village Anbu Jonin who was about to be hit by the poisonous mist, then kicked him away, and with another Body Flicker Technique, returned to her original position.

The Hidden Sand Village Anbu Jonin, having lost his ability to resist, was quickly hypnotized by a Uchiha Clan Jonin and fell into a coma.

Ling also collected the not-too-severely damaged puppets, returning with a full haul, unlike some Jonin who didn't cherish their spoils at all.

Ling sent several Shadow Clones to collect Shuriken, Kunai, Ninjato, and Ninja bags from the deceased or captured Ninja.

Only Ling's Shadow Clones were picking up these scraps on the entire battlefield, but she didn't feel ashamed; these were far more valuable than mere junk.

The most common Shuriken cost over a thousand Ryo, and a Kunai of average quality was around three thousand Ryo.

Although the blades of these Shuriken and Kunai had some nicks, selling them to a blacksmith's shop or collaborating with a Ninja tool store could still yield a significant profit.

Not to mention, the Kunai or Shuriken used by these Jonin were of excellent quality, and many were completely undamaged.

However, what surprised Ling the most were the Ninja tool bags; in Ninja Academy lessons, it was generally not allowed to search enemy Ninja tool bags.

This was because there might be poisonous needles or other highly toxic substances; on the battlefield, for safety reasons, it was not permitted to loot these spoils.

But Ling wasn't afraid; she was merely having her physical Shadow Clones search, and ordinary Jonin couldn't create so many Shadow Clones just to pick up trash.

Moreover, even if they had that much Chakra, they wouldn't waste it on using Shadow Clones to search Ninja bags; during wartime, maintaining full Chakra was paramount.

If Chakra was wasted on searching for trash, and the potential dangers involved in searching, then if a Shadow Clone shattered, one would also suffer the painful backlash from the Shadow Clone's destruction.

This could lead to a suboptimal state, and if an enemy suddenly attacked, it could very likely cost one's life.

Ling's physical Shadow Clones would not shatter from simple attacks, nor would they cause painful backlash, because this was the ability of Escaping Rabbit after Technique Reversal.

It allowed Ling to have an Uzumaki Body, preventing her from suffering the mental shock when a large number of Shadow Clones shattered.

When the Third Hokage's group of Jonin and Ling's side of Jonin went to assist the Hyuga Clan and Iwagakure Anbu in their battle,

Ling had already collected the Hidden Sand Village Anbu's belongings, not even sparing those on the captured Hidden Sand Village Anbu whose Chakra had been sealed.

You wouldn't believe it, but Ling actually encountered quite a few dangers; some were trigger-activated Exploding Tags, some were poisonous needles, and some were poisons.

Fortunately, the physical Shadow Clones had about half of Ling's main body's strength, so most attacks could be dodged, and a small portion would cause the physical Shadow Clone and the Ninja tool bag to be destroyed together.

However, with risk naturally comes reward; Kunai, Shuriken, and Ninjato aside, these were the most basic items.

Better items included various poisons, Soldier Pill, and Exploding Tags; some could be kept for personal use, while others were intended to be sold to the Village's Ninja tool store.

Finally, the most valuable items were some Ninjutsu scrolls, sealing scrolls, and currency.

Most of the Ninjutsu scrolls were Wind Release, and their rank wasn't high; except for a few Ninjutsu with good design concepts, most could only fill the database.

The most useful were the B-rank Ninjutsu Wind Blade and Rasengan Storm Gun; these two Ninjutsu were of the greatest help to Ling.

Wind Blade allows a layer of incredibly sharp Wind Release Chakra to be attached to a Kunai or Ninjato, which can increase the sharpness and power of the weapon in close combat, and also allows the Wind Release Chakra to be launched as a cutting attack.

It's somewhat similar to Ling's Gale Sword Technique, but their principles are different, and there are areas where the two can be combined to enhance the damage of Ling's sword techniques.

Rasengan Storm Gun involves wrapping layers of Wind Release Chakra around the arm, then forming a spiral tornado shape to attack and pierce enemies; its power is decent.

However, the attack range is only within five meters, and the biggest drawback of this technique is that it requires hand signs, unlike Rasengan which can be released without signs.

Nevertheless, some structural concepts of this technique can help complete the development of the Rasengan series of Ninjutsu; Ling already has inspiration, and perhaps she can design a Compressed Rasengan Storm Gun.

Although Ling could first design the Wind Release Compressed Rasengan Shuriken, Ling felt that constantly plagiarizing others' inspiration was not good; she wanted to prove that she could design her own series of Rasengan techniques.

Ling sat on a large rock, beginning to count how much money she had in her hand, while her Shadow Clones had already started to scavenge the Hidden Cloud Village Anbu's Ninja tool bags.

As Ling counted the money in her hand, she extended her thumb to the mouth of the nearby Ninja cat, letting it moisten her thumb to make counting easier.

This Ninja cat was completely black and was a summoned beast that the Ninja Cat Clan had contracted with Ling; it was also the transporter responsible for selling and purchasing supplies.

Ling originally named it 'Charcoal Ball,' but unfortunately, it didn't like it and said that Cat Granny had already named it Yunyan.

Ling expressed disdain, saying, 'Yunyan? I'm Jinta and Liqun! Last life, I smoked Zhonghua and didn't go around shouting about it.'

Yunyan-酱 rolled her Byakugan, reluctantly licking Ling's thumb one last time, and by then, Ling had finished counting.

A total of 2,275,432 Yen, with odd change; what kind of good person carries so much money when going out on a mission?

Didn't you see Yunyan-jiang's saliva was almost dry? Facing Ling's oppression, if Ling hadn't promised her dried fish, she wouldn't have served her.

"Ah~ Meow! Ling, are you only selling these Kunai, Shuriken, Ninjato, and Soldier Pill this time?"

Yunyan looked at the four sealing scrolls Ling took out, which contained the supplies to be sold, separated and ready for the Ninja Cat Clan to sell.

During wartime, selling them could bring in a lot of money; Ling estimated that these supplies, once sold, could yield over three million Ryo.

This was only a small portion; most were damaged or for Ling's own use, otherwise, it could have been even more.

If it weren't for fear of the Village's displeasure, Ling had planned to sell the remaining two Ninja Villages' supplies after counting them.

Now, she could only sell them to the Village at a low price; she was a successor of the fire will, and couldn't sell them to aid the enemy just because another Village offered a higher price.

Watching her Shadow Clones skillfully clean up the battlefield, sort, and bury bodies, Ling nodded with satisfaction; after this whole process, only Ling's Shadow Clones remained on the battlefield, categorizing the supplies and putting them into sealing scrolls.

The Iwagakure Anbu Ninja, who had stubbornly resisted, had been completely defeated with the help of the Third Hokage, and Ling's Shadow Clones immediately rushed to the Iwagakure Anbu battlefield to scavenge.
