Chapter 24 - CHAPTER 24 — Beneath This School, Something Remembers Him

The courtyard floor split open.

Concrete crumbled like dry sand.Dust exploded upward in a choking cloud.Velocity agents screamed as the ground swallowed fences, poles, and parts of the north building.

The Titan Mutation—massive, blood-soaked, terrifying—suddenly looked small.

Because something far bigger was rising beneath them.

Arjun staggered to his feet despite broken ribs, torn muscles, and blood running into his eye.Meera supported him tightly, fingers digging into his arm.

Samar stood on Arjun's other side, trembling violently—not from fear, but from the awakening still tearing at his body from the inside.

Rudra stepped forward slowly, eyes narrowed.

"Everyone," Rudra said quietly, "step back."

No one moved.

Because they all felt it.

A pressure.A weight.A presence so old and heavy it made the air itself tremble.

The ground beneath the courtyard buckled upward—once, twice, and then—

It broke.

A vast, shining form rose from the depths.

The Origin Entity Emerges

It didn't look like a creature.Or a monster.Or even alive in the normal sense.

It was—

A core. The size of a small car.Suspended in the air by tendrils of molten metal and bone.Crystalline plates shifting like breathing.Lines of pale light pulsing like veins.

Its presence was crushing.

Students in the windows fainted. Two Velocity agents collapsed. The Titan Mutation stopped moving entirely and stared at it—like a predator realizing it was prey.

Samar fell to one knee.

Meera gasped and covered her mouth, choking.

Arjun—

Arjun felt the world tilt.

The Entity pulsed.

And the system inside him reacted violently:

[ORIGIN ENTITY CONNECTED TO SUBJECT]Origin Path: 97% → 99%]Neural Link Attempt: ACTIVE]Emotional Resonance: HIGH]

Arjun stumbled backward.

"W–What… is that…?"

Rudra exhaled slowly.

"That," Rudra said, "is the reason your father died."

Arjun's blood froze.

"My… father…? "

Rudra nodded.

"You weren't chosen by the System, Arjun.Your father tried to destroy this thing. But it recognized you before it died."

Meera clutched Arjun's arm in terror.

Samar looked at Rudra sharply."Explain. NOW."

Rudra stepped closer to the Entity.

"I was there," he said."With your father. The night this creature woke for the first time."

Arjun felt the ground shift under his feet.

"You knew my father?"

"I was his assistant," Rudra said."The only one left alive."

Arjun shook, breath trembling.

"Tell me—tell me the truth—what did he do?"

Rudra met Arjun's eyes.

"He tried to erase every record of you."

Arjun felt like he'd been punched.

Meera grabbed his sleeve, horrified."S—Stop—Rudra—stop—he's not ready—"

But Rudra continued:

"Your father wasn't trying to protect you from Velocity," Rudra said."He was trying to protect the world from you."

Arjun staggered.

The Entity pulsed brightly—as if reacting to Rudra's words.

Arjun's system spiked:

[Emotional Impact Detected]Origin Path: 99% (LOCKED)Stability: 2% → 1% (CRITICAL)

Rudra placed a hand on Arjun's shoulder.

"Do not misunderstand," Rudra said."Your father loved you more than anything. But he feared what the Entity would turn you into."

Arjun choked on air, unable to respond.

Meera hugged him tightly, tears streaming down her face.

"Arjun… don't listen… don't break… I'm here… I'm here…"

Samar stared at the Entity, his hands shaking, unable to contain the energy tearing at him.

"What does it WANT with him?" Samar shouted.

Rudra looked at the glowing core.

"It wants to finish what it started."

The Entity's tendrils shifted suddenly—

A sharp fragment shot outward like a spear.

Meera didn't see it.

Arjun saw it—but too late. His weakened body couldn't move fast enough.

"MEERA—!!"

Samar saw it last. His eyes widened.

The spear flew—straight toward Meera's chest.

Arjun reached—but couldn't—

Rudra moved—but wasn't close enough—

The spear struck—

—but Samar shoved Meera aside and took the full impact through his shoulder.

Blood sprayed across the courtyard.

Meera screamed, "SAMAR—!! "

Arjun's world collapsed.

Samar fell backward, gasping, clutching the spear embedded in his shoulder.

He barely managed to grunt:

"I… told you…I won't let either of you die…"

His eyes rolled.

He collapsed.

Meera fell to her knees beside him, sobbing.

Arjun stared at Samar's bleeding body, shaking uncontrollably.

His heartbeat slammed against his ribs.

His vision blurred.

His breath broke.

[Trauma Overload Detected]Origin Path Breaking Control]01:00:00 → 00:30:00 (COUNTDOWN JUMP)

Arjun screamed.

The Entity pulsed in response—like it heard him—like it remembered him.

The Titan Mutation Attacks the Entity

The Titan Mutation roared and charged at the Origin Entity—but the Entity didn't move.

A pulse of light rippled outward—

The Titan flew backward forty metersand slammed into a broken school wallso hard the concrete cracked around it.

The Titan Mutation curled inward, trembling.

Afraid.

Arjun realized:

"It… it isn't mindless… it thinks…"

Rudra nodded.

"It remembers your father's attempt to destroy it."

Arjun swallowed.

"And it sees me."

Rudra looked at Arjun with a heavy, sad expression.

"It always has."

The Entity pulsed again.

A horrible clarity struck Arjun—a flood of memories not his own:

Scientists kneeling.A lab on fire. His father dragging a boy (him) out of a burning chamber.Rudra shouted to run.A glowing core screaming in silence. The boy is crying. The father whispering:

"Forgive me, Arjun…"

Arjun collapsed to his knees, clutching his head.

Meera held Samar, sobbing.Rahul backed away in terror.Rudra stood still, watching everything unfold.

The Entity pulsed again—

Arjun felt a command, an invitation, a recognition:

Come.

"No…" Arjun whispered."No… I'm not… I'm not yours…"

The Entity pulsed harder.

COME.

Arjun shook violently.

"STOP—!!"

He screamed—

The Entity glowed bright—

Arjun's Origin Path surged—

[Origin Path: 99% → 99.8%][FORCED SYNCHRONIZATION ATTEMPT]

Meera screamed:"ARJUN—PLEASE—DON'T—!!"

Samar, bleeding but conscious for a second, whispered:

"Don't… go… bro…"

Arjun's vision blurred.

Everything shook.

The Titan roared again.

Rudra finally moved, stepping in front of Arjun.

He whispered:

"If you touch it now… you won't come back."

Arjun looked up, tears and blood streaking down his face.

"Then tell me—tell me WHY it's calling me!"

Rudra exhaled.

And revealed the truth:

"Because YOU—not your father—was the first human it ever touched."

Arjun froze.

"What…?"

Rudra continued:

"You were six.Your father opened the chamber by mistake. The Entity reached out.It marked you."

Arjun's breath stopped.

Rudra looked him in the eyes.

"And now it wants to finish what it started."

The Entity pulsed—

Arjun felt it pulling him—

Samar collapsed again —Meera cried his name—Velocity fled the campus—The Titan cowered—The ground trembled—The world narrowed—

Arjun whispered:

"What… am I?"

Rudra whispered back:

"You're the only one who can kill it…or become it."

The countdown flashed:

[00:30:00 REMAINING]

Arjun staggered to his feet.

Bloody.Broken.Shaking.

Facing his past.Facing his fate.Facing the thing that remembered him before he remembered himself.

He inhaled.

Slow.

Shaking.

But ready.

He stepped toward the Entity.

And the entity brightened in response.
