**SEASON 2 – EPISODE 2

"THE ACCIDENTAL MOMENT"**

*(Long Episode — 1800+ words)*

The next morning feels unsettlingly quiet for Bhanu.

Classes are normal. People talk, walk, laugh, gossip… but somehow, everything feels different after what happened with the rumors, with Arjun, with Goutam, and mostly… with the unexpected warmth of Yashwin's presence yesterday.

She keeps replaying one moment:

**His hand brushing her hair away from her face.**

**His voice saying softly, "You're safe."**

She bites her lip and shakes it off.

She shouldn't think about that.

Not now.

Not when her life is already complicated enough.

## **1. The Library Meeting**

After classes, Bhanu heads to her usual safe place — the library.

She settles in her corner, hugging her notebook to her chest. Only the ticking of the old wall clock fills the silence.

She exhales slowly.

Finally, peace.

But…

Of course peace never lasts long.

A shadow appears across her table.

Bhanu looks up—only to see *him*.

**Yashwin.**

He stands there holding two books, wearing that effortless grey hoodie that somehow makes him look both calm and intimidating. A single earbud hangs around his collar, and his hair is slightly messy as if he rushed here.

"Hey," he says.

That's it. Just one simple word.

But the way he says it makes her breath stumble.

"H-Hi," she whispers.

"Mind if I sit?"

She shakes her head immediately.

He sits beside her — not across from her like most people would — but **right next to her**, close enough that she can smell a faint mix of rain and citrus on him.

Her heartbeat becomes embarrassingly loud.

He glances at her notebook.

"New notes?"

"Just… rewriting," she says softly.

"Hmm."

He rests his elbow on the table, leaning a little closer. "You study too much."

Bhanu's eyes widen.

"I-I don't—"

"You do."

He smirks slightly. "It shows."

Her cheeks heat up.

Before she can respond, two girls across the library stare at them — particularly at Yashwin — and begin whispering.

Bhanu stiffens.

She hates attention.

Yashwin notices immediately. He leans closer, lowering his voice.

"Relax. They're not thinking anything bad."

She swallows.

He leans even closer, his shoulder brushing hers.

"Actually," he murmurs, "I think they're wondering if I just ruined their chance of flirting with me."

Bhanu's eyes shoot up in shock.

He laughs softly. "Kidding."

Her face turns bright red.

Then he asks, "You okay?"

She nods weakly.

"You don't look okay," he adds, tilting his head.

Her heart flutters.

This boy…

He doesn't talk too much.

He doesn't smile often.

He doesn't pretend.

But with her, he notices everything.

## **2. The Corridor Accident**

Later, as Bhanu leaves the library carrying her books, her attention drifts.

She's thinking about Yashwin.

His voice.

His smirk.

His closeness.

She shakes her head.

*No, no, stop thinking.*

But when she turns a sharp corner—

**She walks straight into someone.**

Her books scatter on the floor.

She gasps lightly, already mortified.

"I'm so sorry—"

A hand catches her waist before she falls.

A firm, steady grip.

Her eyes fly upward.

It's Yashwin.

Again.

His brows lift slightly, almost amused.

"You okay?"

Bhanu freezes.

Because—

She isn't just standing close to him.

**She's pressed against him.**

Her hands clutch his hoodie.

His arm is around her waist, holding her upright.

His warmth surrounds her.

Her breath gets stuck somewhere in her throat.

Yashwin's expression flickers — concern first… then something softer… warmer… quieter.

Neither of them moves.

Neither speaks.

Their faces are barely inches apart.

She can feel his breath brush her cheek.

He can probably hear her heartbeat.

Students walk past in the corridor, but the world feels muted — as if wrapped in cotton.

Bhanu finally whispers, "I-I didn't see where I was going…"

"I noticed," he murmurs.

"You… caught me," she says dumbly.

He smiles — a small, slow, devastatingly gentle smile — the kind he almost never shows.

"Yeah," he says softly, "I'll catch you again if you fall."

Her face turns crimson.

She tries to step back, but his hand is still around her waist.

He realizes it too — the softness in his eyes drops into a brief flicker of embarrassment — and he lets go slowly, lingering a second longer than necessary.

She crouches quickly to gather her books.

He kneels beside her.

Their hands brush once.

Then again.

Her heartbeat practically trips over itself.

Yashwin clears his throat.

"You should slow down when you walk."

"I-It was an accident," she protests softly.

"Good," he says with a smirk. "Because you can't go around hugging people like that on purpose."

Her head snaps up in horror.

"I wasn't—!"

He bites back a laugh.

She stands up and he helps her balance again, lightly steadying her arm.

Then he steps back, shoving his hands into his pockets.

"You should head to class," he murmurs. "You look flustered."

She really does.

"See you later," he says, and walks away casually… as if he didn't just cause a hurricane inside her chest.

## **3. The Almost-Kiss**

Bhanu's mind is still spinning when the day ends.

She leaves campus early, hugging her backpack and trying to breathe normally.

But as she reaches the school gate, she hears footsteps behind her.

"Bhanu."

She turns.

Yashwin stands there again, hands in pockets, looking… strangely unsure.

"I wanted to ask…"

He pauses, looking at her for a long few seconds.

"…are you still scared of going home alone?"

She shakes her head. "No, I'm okay."

He steps a bit closer.

"Still… I can walk with you."

"You don't have to—"

"I know," he interrupts softly.

"But I want to."

She stares.

He rarely speaks so honestly.

So she nods.

They walk side by side.

Slow.

Quiet.

Comfortable.

At one point, a bike zooms past too close and Bhanu flinches instinctively.

Without thinking, Yashwin's arm goes around her shoulders, pulling her closer to him, shielding her with his body.

She freezes.

He realizes what he's doing.

Their eyes meet.

Too close.

Too intense.

Too overwhelming.

For a moment, he looks like he might say something.

Or lean in.

Or—

But he stops himself, letting go gently.

"Sorry," he mutters, voice deeper than usual.

"It's okay," she says, breathless.

He stares at her for a heartbeat too long.

Then he whispers, almost to himself:

"…you make me do things without thinking."

Bhanu's stomach flips.

He steps back.

She steps forward.

The space between them crackles with tension.

His hand brushes hers — just the back of his fingers — testing the distance.

She stiffens.

He murmurs, "Bhanu…"

Her heart pounds.

His eyes lower to her lips — just for a fraction of a second.

A soft gust of wind pushes her hair across her face.

He gently lifts his hand to tuck it behind her ear.

Her breath catches.

His fingers linger on her cheek.

Soft.

Careful.

She doesn't move.

He leans in—

Just a few inches.

Just close enough to feel his breath.

Close enough to know —

If he comes even one inch closer…

They'll kiss.

But right then—

A teacher calls her name from behind.

Bhanu jumps.

Yashwin steps away instantly, jaw tightening.

The moment breaks like fragile glass.

The teacher approaches, talking about some pending assignment.

Bhanu nods absentmindedly.

When she looks back—

Yashwin is already walking away.

But not before giving her one last look over his shoulder.

A look filled with meaning.

A look that says:

**"This isn't over."**
