As the twins got better, Geo got worse. He knew he had a cold, but he ignored it. He had gotten behind on his writing. If he wanted it finished in time so Ava could give her girlfriend a signed copy, he needed to work on it. He had just finished with his walk with his mom, and she was off on some work trip. Simon was on a date with his girlfriend, a picnic with the dinner Geo showed him how to make. The twins...they were acting odd, but he just racked it up to some after effect of being sick.
You need to rest...
'Maybe it is time to take a break' Geo thought before standing on weak legs and heading downstairs. There, like every Monday was the list of chores. 'A perfect destination, then I will cook dinner. Then I will do my homework and finish my chapter.'
NO! You need to sleep!
'I am not tired,I will sleep once I am done.' Geo got the duster out and got to work. His movements were sluggish, and every time he reached for a high place he felt nauseous. His head spun as he wiped up the table, and he leaned on the vacuum as he cleaned the floor. He barely made it to the bathroom before throwing up. Everything doubled then faded before his eyes.
When people got home no dinner was ready, though the ingredients were out. The room was half clean with the cleaning closet still open. It was quiet early, and oddly still.
Something is wrong!
All the spirits cried in their heads as they looked around. Coughing from the bathroom caught all of their attention. Geo was leaning on the door, eyes dull, but he smiled. "Sorry I wasn't able to finish cleaning or making dinner...I wasn't feeling well, but I am better now."
"I don't think so," Mollie said before walking over and helping him up. "You are going upstairs to your room and you are going to sleep. We will deal with the chores and dinner for once." She guided him up the stairs to his room and tucked him into bed. "You helped me and Max when we were sick, now it is our turn to return the favor." She kissed him on the head before heading back downstairs. The rest of them had started on the chores and Simon was cooking in the kitchen.
"I didn't know you could cook," Max said, as he put up some of the scattered cleaning supplies.
"I asked Geo to teach me so I could impress my girlfriend." He said shamefully.
"Hey, you weren't the only one who asked things of him. I asked that he give me a signed copy of his newest book so I could give it to my girlfriend." Ava conferred him.
"Wait, Geo is a writer?" All the others shout.
"More like a published author, he has 3 or 4 books already out. My girlfriend loves all his books, but I have yet to read any of them." She shrugged as she mopped the floor.
Lea came out of the bathroom, "I recently tried to make time for him, to learn about his interest, it seems now that he was taking time out of his day for me, not the other way around. I didn't know Mollie and Max were sick till I got home! I am a terrible mother."
"We have all been busy, and left everything to Geo without even releasing it. This afternoon Mollie and I went through all our schedules and made a chart. Geo has been cooking, doing chores, keeping up his grades, and now adding his writing to that, all by himself since he was 11, that's three whole years!" Max informed them.
Shame filled all of them, and they talked for hours as they cleaned about what to do.
