Chapter 4 - Chapter 4 — The Giants of Iron and the Boy Who Lifted Without Power

The first phase of the examination was simple—physical strength.

Rows of students stood before digital weight stations capable of measuring exact lifting force. For those with strength-based powers, this test was practically made for them.

Among them, one name stood out: Bam Relic—a brute known for his superhuman durability and monstrous might.

Rumor said he once crushed an iron dummy barehanded.

He was expected to dominate.

But this year had another legend-in-the-making—Astra Noire, known as the Child Blessed by the Gods.

Unlike her title suggested, Astra wasn't arrogant or loud. She was calm, polite, and eerily composed. But her powers were overwhelming—flight, strength, and speed. A perfect trifecta.

When the test began, Bam stepped forward first. His every movement radiated confidence.

The barbell groaned as he lifted it effortlessly.

2000 kilograms.

He dropped it with a smirk.

"That's my limit for today."

Then Astra approached. She gripped the same bar and lifted—1500… 1700… 2000 kilograms—and stopped, matching Bam's score with serene indifference.

Everyone watching knew she wasn't even trying.

Then came Raze Arcwell.

He stepped forward quietly, gripping the barbell. His muscles tensed, his breath steady. Years of training surged through him.

The numbers rose—100… 125… 150 kilograms.

He stopped there, exhaling slowly.

The crowd murmured.

One fifty kilograms—without a single enhancement.

It wasn't the top score, but it was double the academy average for unenhanced students.

"He's really powerless?"

"No ability support?"

"That's… actually impressive."

When the rankings appeared, Raze had placed sixth overall—above several ability-users.

He smirked faintly. It wasn't victory, but it was proof.

One step at a time, he thought.

Then, the instructor's voice boomed again:

"Next test — Agility Assessment. Prepare for movement drills."

The real challenge had only just begun.
