Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Satisfy Me

What did this mean? To satisfy the cold-hearted man she hated most? Was he truly insane? Her mind was filled with the various adult scenes they had engaged in throughout the day, making her body tingle. Was Jefferson referring to those adult scenes? This was due to Carabella occasionally reading adult romance novels, which had impure her thoughts.

The corners of her lips lifted stiffly, and she slowly walked away from the cold man. "I don't understand what you're saying. Why should I be the one to satisfy you? Besides, you're completely insane, Jefferson! You're engaged!"

Jefferson laughed so hard his cheeks turned red. His right hand slowly stroked the tiny head of the sweet woman before him. "I never thought you'd grow up, Carabella. Why are you even thinking about that? Is it because you've been watching adult films?"

She shook her head quickly. "No!"

"Then, you must obey my orders."

"Am I your slave? Why do you have to give me orders?"

"Because you will always accompany me."

Carabella rolled her eyes. "I was hired as your family's gardener, not your slave!"

"It seems like it's pointless for me to talk to you at length. You're still like a child who doesn't understand anything."

"Listen to me, Mr. Jefferson! I will not be your slave! I am only carrying out my duties in this house!"

"You'll understand what I meant. Anyway, I'll give you time to think about it until tonight." His eyes smirked at the sweet woman, hearing the nickname that annoyed him. "Don't call me that stiff nickname!"

"Then, what should I call you?"

A heavy sigh escaped his lips. If he continued arguing with Carabella, he would lose control of his irritation. His previously calm demeanor was instantly shattered by her. He slowly walked away from her without a word. Most importantly, he had conveyed his important mission to her. Soon, she would have to grant his wish.

Exhausted from arguing with Carabella, Jefferson returned to his residence and rested in the living room, sipping lemon juice. The silence was incredibly calming. His eyes were fixed on his father, who was walking toward him.

"Have you had enough talking with Ella, my son?" Alexander asked, taking a seat on the middle sofa.

"That's enough, I think, Dad. I wanted to talk to her because I was curious about how she's been doing. Plus, I still can't believe he's been living in our house since today. Even though she used to play with me when her father worked at our house."

"Even though she'll be living in our house, I still can't bear to see her suffer all this time. She's always insisted on working as a gardener, even though I've told her to stay indoors."

"She's always been stubborn since she was little, Dad. That's perfectly normal when dealing with that strange woman."

The father burst out laughing at his son, who rarely uttered rude words. "My son, Ella, is a very kind and friendly woman. Don't hate her too much."

"It is precisely because she is a good girl that I want to ask for your help, Father."

Alexander crossed his legs for a moment. "What do you want?"

"I want Ella to work with me. I don't want her to be the gardener in this house."

Her brow furrowed at her son's surprising statement. "Why her? You're usually so against having a housekeeper."

"Dad, have you forgotten that I'm busy preparing for my engagement party with Larissa? Since I'm so busy, I need someone to help me. Ella is very competent at her job, so I'd like to hire her personally."

"Are you sure? Would Ella mind working with you?"

"Ella and I have known each other since we were little. I need someone who knows me really well."

Alexander nodded and folded his arms. "Okay, I won't stop you. But don't rely on it too much, or everyone will misunderstand you. Especially since you've always been known as a perfect man and a perfectionist."

"Don't worry, Dad. I'm just treating Ella like I always do."

Meanwhile, Carabella was still confused by the current situation. What did Jefferson really want from her? She wasn't stupid enough to give a quick answer. After all, Jefferson was about to marry the perfect woman. She didn't want to ruin the couple's relationship, which had been so harmonious in the news.

It was already getting dark. Carabella lay on the soft bed, tossing and turning. Her first day in this house had soured her mood. Now, what answer would she give to this cold-hearted man? What if she refused his request?

As per the young master's request, Carabella was to meet him in the garden. She strolled around the garden gazebo while waiting for the man to arrive. Her gaze fell on the full moon shining in the sky. Her eyes sparkled as she stared at it as she closed them. For the first time, the night sky was so beautiful on her birthday. She only hoped to be free from the bad luck she had endured for decades and marry a man who truly loved her.

"Don't tell me you're praying right now!"

The harsh voice made her eyes widen. Her gaze, grinning at the annoying man, finally reached her. "Am I not allowed to pray on my birthday?"

"What do you want for your birthday? Do you want to be rich?"

"That's none of your business!"

"Then why are you suddenly praying? There's no meteor shower."

For a moment, her gaze fell on the full moon shining in the sky. "For the first time, I've seen such a beautiful full moon on my birthday. Even though no one prays during a full moon, I still want to make a wish."

The corners of his lips lifted confidently. "Actually, I know what you want, Carabella."

"You'll never guess, Jefferson!"

"If you want your wish to come true, you have to grant my request earlier."

"You!!"

"Do you want to cry forever?"
